Company from out of town

I "stole" a few minutes to say that I will be back tomorrow (Sunday) with some new "stuff" lol We have company over and I haven't been able to post anything. Although I miss sitting for hrs. on my computer, I have enjoyed my guest tremendously. They brought their three kids "down" and with the kids that I already have here....let me say that it has been a blast! I love them all, but I am ONE TIRED sista right now! I can't remember the last time I got 8-9 hrs. of sleep. Tonight, I'm gonna get me some sleep AND I am gonna "sleep-in" tomorrow. Until then...ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

What Your Bathroom Habits Say About You

You are a very considerate person, but that doesn't mean you let people walk all over you.

You spend a lot on clothes, and you tend to be a very dresser. However, it's hard for you to throw away trendy clothes when they go out of style.

You have the perfect blend of confidence and class. You're proud of who you are - but you don't broadcast it.

In relationships, you tend to be very romantic and demanding. You'll treat your partner like gold, but you expect a lot in return.

Very Very Warm today

Today is a very warm day here in Michigan. After I cooked dinner..yeah I cooked in this heat. The kids wanted McDonalds, but I told them "these tacos are you're McDonalds,so close your eyes and pretend":) They think that money grows on trees!

I made two cards today. All stamps are from the $1.00 bin at Michaels. The Thanks a lot card is stamped with acrylic stamps. The papers are SU and from a scrappin kit. The ribbon are SU and from Michaels. The let's get together card is stamped with rubber stamps. The paper is from SU. The ribbon American Crafts and I used stickles on both cards. The more I experiment, the more I like making cards. They are quick and easy at least right now. There are alot of methods out there that are not easy. I would love to master my Prismacolor pencils and watercoloring techniques.

Busy Weekend!

So far this weekend has been kind of busy, but I still managed two new projects. I made another card today. I experimented with watercoloring, but I wasn't pleased with the results.I then restamped and lightly colored around the letters and the heart. I still wasn't happy and after pondering I decided that stickles would help a little. (chuckle)

My niece wanted a layout page done and since she is my "girl" I made her a layout page. I hope she likes it.

One layout and one card!

I made a card today and was pretty pleased with the results. The paper is from SU and the stamp if a $1.00 special from Michaels.
I found these pretty papers in one of my boxes and fell in love with them. I layered the roses for a 3-D effect and titled the page Sisters.

If you are reading this......

BOO........consider yourself Tagged! :)

Tagged....who ME!!!!!!!

I don't even know where to start.....7 things about me......hummmmmmmm:)

1. I hate wearing a sz. 10 shoe!!!!!! (thanks dad for the BIG feet):)

2. I am tall...5'9" and the "shortie" of my family. The tallest is 6'4".

3. I love to laugh and when I laugh too hard...I cry. :)

4. I love going to the movies and out to eat dinner.

5. I gotta have my cup of coffee in the morning.

6. I like playing Bingo....I know, I know....:)

7. My mother has dementia, and I hate it. I would not wish "that" on my worst
enemy! It's very heartbreaking when your OWN mom does not even know who you are.
When I was younger, I use to hate it when she would fuss (and you know she was
right about what ever she was fussing about.) I miss our mom and daughter chats!

A page a day

This page is about my son Ethan. He is 7yrs. old and his current age 9 yrs. old. It somewhat difficult making a layout for boys, you have to be careful with the embellishments and not get too prissy. (smile) Anyhow, he was happy with "his" page. (chuckle)

adjustments

I hope that this adjustment does my page justice....the previous pic. looked too washed out for me. One of these days I have to get me a better camera.

Flower girl

I wanted to try something different for this page. I used some scraps of paper, left over ribbon and lots and lots of brads and tiny flowers for the embellishments.
I had to use the white stick ons to cover up the spots from the glue. Although the glue say dries clear, I didn't like the shine it left. I made a tiny cute little card that reads "we love you"

Father's Day

I hope everyone enjoyed Father's Day. Here in Michigan, the weather was nice and hot!!! We went to the movies and after that picked up my mother-in-law and went out to eat dinner. Here are a few photos of us. This is part of the crew. The twins are with their mom today. Here we are picking up my mother-in-law so that she can enjoy Father's Day dinner with her son. The first pic. is Ethan, the next my husband, my step-daughter Caresse, my mother-in-law and myself.

Make and takes

This evening I had a class at my SU demonstrators house, it was a small gathering but alot of fun. We had pizza, salad and bownies. We also made so cards there. They are called "makes and takes". The first card was relatively easy to make. All I had to do was fold the 5"X8" cardstock in half, punch out the openings, sponge the edges, mount it and stamp the card. The second card I was introduced a new technique, wet embossing. I really like that technique! I wet embossed the stamped image, did the embossing, did paper tearing for added texture. After that I took the stamp pad and lightly ran the pad across the card. Then I mounted the sandals and stamped the card and presto....

Forgot to upload the pictures! :)

Two new pages

I tried to capture the Beautiful Day through paper art. I used bright colors and paper quilling and folding to achieve this look. I quilled the flowers, petals and the sun. I did paper folding for the flower stems. I applied sm. prims flowers to colorful paper clips.

For Tag you are it, I had alot of scraps left over from a Stamping Up cards in a box class. I embellished three tags with paper embellishments from the kit. I used the sm. pop dot to make the tags "pop". My pictures have not arrived in the mail yet, so I left that area blank. When my pics. arrive I will apply the pic. to the matted area and apply a journaled pull-out tag that will rest under the picture.

I also made my first card, I have limited supplies but could not resist trying. I absolutely hate it....but I tried. I placed a big order with my Stamping Up demonstrator, perhaps then I can bring my images in my head to life on a piece of 5 1/2 X 8" piece of paper! :)

Life goes on

I had my camera out the other day and captured some priceless memories. Caressa loves the phone, but can her conversation be that serious!!!! (I'm not a phone person,I can't talk on the phone endlessly.) My son Ethan looks like he's "up to" something. My step-son Cliff is bragging to the others about his almost all "A" report card.

Oh My Itchy Eyes!

I haven't had any problems with my allergies in years! This year however, my eyes have been itchin like crazy. I had to get some eyedrops for them from the doctor. So I'm starting to feel like my "normal" self again. I have alot of pics. to upload and will be sharing them soon. :)

I'm on a roll!

I've been busy creating an album for my mother-in-law. I've been making a page or two a day! I even started on a card! I ordered a large order from my Stamping Up Demonstrator and I can't wait to get it. I don't have all the right supplies here, so I better leave "well enough alone" before I mess-up my current supplies. :)

I kind of like what I am seeing now.

I'm trying to focus more on one subject for my one page lay-outs. I discovered Page Maps recently. The layouts really give me inspiration and ideas. If you should get the "scrapbooker or card makers block" try http://PageMaps.com/ for inspiration. Here are a few of my recent pages. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. :)

I am trying to develop my style.

I am posting a few pages from the very beginning of my scrapbooking journey.I started "scrappin" in June of 2005. Here are the "beginnings" that started me on my journey.

The 3-D baby page

The 3-D baby page was inspired by Anna Griffin. I watched her create a page similar to this on DIY (When the scrapbooking show was aired.) I printed the instructions and ended up with this page. Thank you for the inspiration Anna Griffin, I love your style!

I've gotta get out of this RUT!

I was on a roll...I did several pages non stop and then a BIG thud hit me......all I can do is sit and stare at pictures and pretty papers! Geez...why does this happen to me (deep sigh)

Any how here are a few projects that I accomplished before the "BIG thud" hit me:)
