LOTV Thursday Challenge!

Hello Everyone and Happy Thursday!

This weeks LOTV Challenge is to create a card based off the following recipe of 3 papers, 2 stamps (the second stamp can be a sentiment) and one embellishment. If you are one that likes to embellish your cards, this is truly a challenge!

My main design paper is by DCWV and the two smaller pieces are from my scrap bin. Both my image and sentiment are from Lili Of The Valley. I machine stitched around all of my mats and added ribbon to the medium mat. *ribbon does not count as an embellishment and is OK to use* My image is colored in with Copic Markers and embellished with crystal gems by Prima.

As with all LOTV Challenges, you have two weeks to complete your card. You don't have to use LOTV Stamps but if you have them, why not use them. When you are finished with your card, link your creation to LOTV Thursday's Blog. Have fun creating and we can't wait to view your creations.

Have a great day and thank you all so much for stopping by!

Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge #28..Sketch Challenge!

Hello Everyone!

I'm running a bit late with today's LOTV sketch challenge. My step-daughter came home sick from school yesterday and took a turn for the worse. She broke out in hives and was running a high temp. Luckily, we were able to get her into the doctor's office first thing this morning. She's on some antibiotics and some medication and resting comfortably right now...thank goodness! I was afraid that she had caught that flu virus that's going around, but the doctor said that she's having a bad case of allergies, I sure hope he's right!

This weeks sketch was inspired by Jo Austin! What a fab sketch! Remember, you have two weeks to make a card for the challenge...and that's plenty of time to think of something creative. Please link your creation to LOTV blog. For more inspiration, please stop by and see the rest of the LOTV DT cards and here's a peek at what you could win!

Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge #23

Happy Thursday Everyone and it's time for another Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge! This weeks challenge is to make a card according to the sketch layout on my card. Nothing too complicated and a very easy sketch to follow. Should you decide to participate with LOTV Thursday Challenge, please link your card to LOTV Thursday Challenge blog. Every week, a very nice prize is given to the winner and who knows...the winner could be YOU! So what are you waiting for????

I had planned to do something different for this weeks challenge, but I had a family emergency and was at the hospital all day and most of the evening. My mom fainted in the nursing home and they rushed her to the hospital. For some reason my mom has a fainting spell a couple times a year. We usually are in the hospital all day as a result, and after the doctors run every test imaginable, they never can find anything wrong with her and send her back to the nursing home! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that she is OK. She's up in age a bit and is in the third stage of Alzheimer's.

Sorry about rambling there, the words just came out in a rush! So... to make my LOTV deadline in a timely manner, I resorted to using my LOTV download image Easter Bunnies. I tell ya' if you are pressed for time and need a card like... right now...these download images from LOTV are the perfect remedy!

To give my image a bit of my own personal touch, I used my Copic Markers and gave the bunny a bit more depth and used my gray marker for shadowing. The card stock is SU's Certainly Celery and the design paper is SU's Rainbow Sherbet. To embellish my card, I added Dew Drops, liquid glass, extra fine glitter and flowers.

I already know that I'm going to be super busy again tomorrow. Hopefully my mom will be alright and if the hospital releases her tomorrow, I should be home sometime in the afternoon. I haven't forgotten anyone and once I rest up, I will be around to see your lovey cards!

Until then, take care and thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs

Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge #22

Happy Thursday!

Today's Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge is to make a Mother's Day Card. I almost made a card with a few flowers on it but I decided to use these cute down load images from Lili of the Valley's on-line shop.

What's so cool about these images is that, they are already finished! All you have to do is down-load them, cut out the image you want and make your card! They also come in three different sizes..Sm. med. and large! (The image I used for my card is medium and the image on the candy tube is a smaller image.) This image is part of a set of four and the name of this image sheet is Fairy Tale Download.

I decorated the tube with a strip of DP that was punched on both ends with my MS lace punch. After I adhered the strip of DP to the tube, I simply added a sentiment tag with ribbon.

Card Details............
images from Lili of the Valley, sentiment computer generated, c/s SU and PTI, DP SU, Nesties rectangle dies, extra fine glitter, ribbon and Prima Flowers.

Should you decide to participate in this weeks challenge, post your card to LOTV . Each week they give away a fantastic prize and the next winner could be you! For more inspiration, click this link and check out the other LOTV DT cards!

Have a great day and thank you all for stopping by!

Lili of the Valley Challenge #20

Hello everyone!
I'm sorry that I have been MIA the past few days. We received some bad news the other day which turned my whole day sour. My husband is retired from Delphi (Delphi is a "spin off" from GM) and it seems that most salaried retirees will lose their health benefits in April. This whole sorry mess turns my stomach inside out and I didn't even think about stamping for a day or so!!!! I'm crossing my fingers and praying that Blue Cross/Blue Shield will let me add my husband on to my insurance plan. *sigh*

Well ....to keep my mind off my troubles today, I made a card for Lili of the Valley's Thursday Challenge. The sketch was designed by the talented Donalda (Enjoying the Journey). This is my take on the challenge and thanks for the inspiration Donalda!

My image is my new Anya from The Greetings Farm. I was surprised to find that these stamps are much larger than what I expected and they stamp very nicely! The sentiment is a $1.00 stamp that I purchased from Michael's during my early days of stamping. The card stocks are from SU and Papertrey Ink. The designer papers are from SU and Pebbles. Inc and I colored my image with Copic Markers. To embellish my card, I used Nestabilites rectangle dies, Maya Road felt flowers, buttons and Scrapper floss. I also used ribbon and tiny chocolate pearls.

Hope you have an enjoyable Sunday afternoon and thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs

Lili of the Valley Challenge #18

Good morning everyone!

Today I want to share with you my second card as guest DT member for Lili of the Valley. The challenge this week was to use two different design papers, three brads and one flower. I really enjoyed this challenge and I would like to thank the members of Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenges for the opportunity!

I'm going to keep my post brief today. I have a nagging headache Smiley from millan.net(I sure hope that I'm not coming down with something! ) and I have to catch up on my blogging duties. In the meantime, try to have a great day and if the weather is great in your area....appreciate it. Right now we are experiencing raging snow storm. Smiley from millan.net If I recall correctly, the weatherman said "light snow showers" this morning and from where I'm sitting it is completely the opposite! Smiley from millan.net

Oh well... on a brighter note have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good Morning everyone and...Smiley from millan.net

Today's post is going to be a short one. I imagine that a few of you have a lot planned for today, so I'll keep it brief.Smiley from millan.net

Today's card is my first as a guest designer for Lili of the Valley. I don't know how I confused the post dates, but I did. *sigh* When I discovered that I should have posted my card this past Thursday...I felt crushed! I made a mad dash and made a card. I feel OK about this card but I know that I could have done better. I'm really sorry Jacqui. I always try to do my best and I feel as though I let the team down. I know it sounds mushy and all but this is how I feel.

Card Details..............

Lili of the Valley Challenge #17

Hello Everyone!

This weeks Lili of the Valley sketch challenge was to make a card for the "male". I have been meaning to buy a stamp that is oriented for an older male, but somehow I haven't done so! Just when I think I'm going to take the plunge and buy a guy type stamp, a cute stamp catches my eye and there you have...I'm still without a guy stamp.

So while thinking about what to do and how to go about it, I thought about the designer paper I brought some weeks ago. The DP by Piggy Tales featured a slew of guitars on it and on the reverse side the guitars are larger. I decided to cut out one of the guitars and base my card around it. After I cut and trimmed the guitar, I matted it on red c/s and trimmed it again just leaving a bit the the red c/s as trimming. I then colored over the guitar with my Copic clear glitter pen and to give the guitar a shine, I applied Liquid Glass to it.

I used my Cricut Expression to cut the letters and stars and used silver brads and black ribbon to decorate my card.

Card stock PTI and Cut Cardstock, DP Piggy Tales Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Cricut Expression, Cricut cartridge Plantin SchoolBook, paper piercing, silver brads and black ribbon

Have a wonderful evening and thank you for stopping by!

Lili of the Valley Challenge #14

Good Morning everyone!
The week has passed by so quickly and once again I have neglected my blog. I honestly don't mean to neglect my blogging duties...honest! It seems that I get so busy around the house and although I still find time to create cards, I fall short when it comes to getting them posted on my blog. I'm seriously going to have to do something about this!

This card is for Lili of the Valley's Challenge #14. The sketch was designed by Donalda (Enjoying the Journey), thank you so much for the inspiration Donalda!
Speaking of inspiration, while browsing the blogs for inspiration, I was inspired by Iris's beautiful cards to make a shaker type card. I have always wanted to make one of these cards as well and decided to take the plunge and make one. I found the instructions here and I was amazed at how easy shaker cards are to make! If you are in need of inspiration or in need a template for a project, be sure to check out the resource area at Splitcoaststampers!

Card details.................

stamp- Lili of the Valley, sentiment - SU, c/s SU and PTI, DP PTI's Polka Dot Basics, and acetate for window, inks- Adirondack Pitch Black and Copic Markers. To embellish my card I sewed around the edges of the card mat, used ribbon and flowers. For the shaker contents I used the mini beads that I won from Rina and beads from SU. I also used mounting tape, extra fine glitter, pearls and Nesties lg. circle dies.

Before I sign off I would like to congratulate the new Little C's Divas! Way to go girls and I hope you have a blast...I know I did!

As always, have a great day and thank you for stopping by.

Hugs

Lili of the Valley #8

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm going to try to keep a steady flow of cards posted until next Wednesday. The closer it gets to the holiday, the more hectic life becomes around here! Looking on the bright side of things, no matter how hectic things get around here, I'm going to squeeze in some "play time" and create a card or two.

I made this card for Lili of the Valley's Challenge #8. The challenge for this week was to make a card base off the sketch provided by Donalda. After gathering some inspiration from the samples provided by Lili of the Valley's DT, ideas started spinning around in my head and this is what I came up with.

The stamps are from Lili of the Valley, A Muse (the shadow shaped oval) and the sentiment is from Close To My Heart. The card stocks are SU's Pink Pirouette,Papertrey Inks Stampers Select White and the Cut Cardstock Company. I decided to use this awesome paper from Glitz Designs...I really love this paper:) I used my small circle Nestabilities die for a uniform circle shape and trimmed the outer edges so that the circles would not over lap the card. After that I used my Cuttlebug and embossed the circles for texture and for more dimension, I spritzed black ink on the circles. with my Spritzer tool from SU. I stamped my image and used my thing-a-ma-jig to line up the shadow oval stamp from A Muse. I have had this stamp over a year and somehow I managed to overlook this precious stamp.... shame on me! After I was satisfied with the ovals position, I colored my image with my Copic Markers and embellished the image with extra fine glitter. I also embellished my card with felt flowers from Maya Road and embellished the flower center with small black brads.

Have a wonderful day and thank you all for stopping by:)
