ISS Back To School Blog Hop!

Hello Everyone,

It's time for another InStyle Stamps Blop Hop and this month's theme is "Back To School"! I realize that quite a few children have already returned to school but in my area, the kids return to school the day after Labor Day. However, I am ready...more than ready...for them to return. I miss my quiet mornings:)

My card features Janice and I also included a nugget tin for a gift. The nuggets were wrapped with matching DP and I simply made a bellyband to embellish the tin. My card is simply embellished with gems and a couple of die cuts from DCWV grade school paper stack.

Be sure to stop by and see all of the ISS DT back to school creations. The DT names are on my side bar. I also want to say that sadly this is my last blog hop with InStyle Stamps. I have had an awesome time working with such beautiful people and the experience is invaluable!

Have a great day and thanks so so much for stopping by!

Whooo Hooooo...I can finally relax and play!

Hello Everyone and Good Morning to you all!

I'm so glad that we are finished with our den, at least for now that is. We will finish our work after the electrician does his thing and install more electrical outlets in the room. The final step will be to decorate and buy furniture....I'm looking forward to the shopping part! *lol*

In the meantime, I've been longing for my craft room all week and today I could finally create something in a peaceful atmosphere. I made two cards this evening and was tempted to make another card but changed my mind and watched TV with the family instead.

I missed ISS weekly challenge this week and made up for it by creating a card featuring Trent.

I based Trent's uniform color off of my sons favorite cartoon hero, Naruto.
Trent is colored in with Copic Markers and the sentiments are rub-ons that were matted on pieces card stock. The design paper is by Disney and the card stocks are Bazzill and Papertrey Ink's Stampers Select. To further embellish my card, I cut out two tabs with SU's Window Punch, folded them in half and added orange brads. I also used the rectangle Nestie dies and ribbon.

Have a great day and thank you all so much for stopping by! I will be making rounds all morning catching up on and viewing your awesome creations.

InStyle Stamps Wednesday Color Challenge!

Hello Everyone,

I had wanted to post my card earlier but due to problems with our cable provider, I wasn't able to. We have the cable bundle which means our telephone, Internet and cable are provided by our cable company. I have heard of other people having problems every once in a while, but until last night....we have never had a problem. Imagine...no telephone, cable or Internet services for over 9 hours! I'm so relieved that the our cable is working again....I missed my fav. programs and my computer. Smiley from millan.netThe telephone is something I have to put up with though...it rings all the time! *LOL* Smiley from millan.net

This weeks InStyle Stamps Challenge is a color challenge, you have to make a card using the colors purple and green!

The prominent color of my card is purple with splashes of green to compliment. I paper pieced the dress of my image (Gidget) with design paper from Papertrey Ink. After I adhered the paper pieced dress to Gidget, I noticed that only one green polka dot was within the pattern. To spice things up a bit, I added more green polka dots to Gidget's dress with my Copic Marker.

I made my card base with Nesties Label One die and the mat is with Nesties square and scalloped dies. The card measurements are 4 X 4. I used Copic Markers to color in Gidget's skin tones, hair, shoes and Hula Hoop. The sentiment is stamped directly underneath my image.
My card is embellished with flowers, half pearls and ribbon.

To play along with the challenge, simply make a card using a stamp from InStyle Stamps and post to ISS blog. Have fun!!!

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Mike and Jessie

Hello Everyone!
I would like to introduce you to the newly engaged couple, Mike and Jessie. This adorable image is from InStyle Stamps Anime collection.

To "jazz" my card up, I added a little doodling around the edges of my main mat and applied Designer Rhinestones by Basic Grey. I discovered that these rhinestones are a lot easier to apply to your card or layout if you cut out the portion that you want, lift with tweezers and apply to your project. The first time I tried to use these rhinestones, I lifted the entire design with my fingers and made a huge mess! Needless to say, I have learned that it is much easier to use my tweezers!

My circular sentiment is by Stampin' Up. I punched the sentiment out with my 1" circle punch, matted it with black c/s and cut the edges with my scallop scissors.
I also added pink rhinestones in the corners and as I type, I notice that I missed a corner! Yikes!!!!

If you're interested, here are the card details.......
image, ISS (Mike and Jessie), sentiment SU (I think this sentiment is retired), c/s PTI , Bazzill and Neenah Solar White, dp DCWV, inks Copic Markers, single rhinestones, designer rhinestones, ribbon and a flower

Have an enjoyable day and thank you all so much for stopping by!

InStyle Stamps!

Good Morning!

I have a new InStyle Stamps image that I want to share with you today. The name of my image is Janice. Janice reminds me of a little girl that is soooooooooo anxious to start school and make new friends. She is full of excitement and filled with anticipation! Did any of you feel this way about the first day of school...I know I did!

If you notice, I leave a lot of my sentiment areas blank. I'm never sure of what sentiment I want to express until I'm ready to give my card away. Janice is colored in with Copic Markers and matted with Nestie rectangle dies. The design paper is by Chatter Box (Mini Garden Stripe) and the card stocks are from SU (Choc. Chip) and Papertrey Ink. I added a piece of chipboard (Heidi Grace) and attached a small button to it.
To play off the stripes, I found this yummy polka dot ribbon in my stash. I also attached a piece of silver cord to the button.

Before I sign off, I'm going to post information about the huge sale going on over at InStyle Stamps! Have a great day everyone and thank you all so much for stopping by!

Right now InStyle Stamps is hosting the "4th of July Blow Out". Tons of our stamps are on sale and we even have FREE digis available for you to purchase. Click here to see what's on sale.

Is it a card..OR Is it a folder....Why not BOTH!

Hello Everyone and I hope that you had a beautiful and relaxing weekend!

When I became aware of the existence of the "blogging world", I would try different projects and fail miserably! I tried this folder a few years ago and it looked awful!!! I didn't have a lot of the necessary tools then and "eye balling" measurements doesn't always get it. In other words, I wasn't paying attention to links and blog names at that particular time and I don't know who to give credit to for this folder. On a happier note, I just want to thank who ever you are for the inspiration!

My card/folder is perfect for that special gift because the recipient gets a lot of treats all packed into one neat folder. The inside pockets are capable of holding images, small packs of flowers and other goodies.

If you are interested in the details to making this folder, my second ever tutorial is posted on InStyle Stamps blog under Method Monday!

I took a picture of the majority of the supplies that I used. The image is Mellie and she's from InStyle Stamps. the image is from SU. The card stocks are from SU and the DP from PTI. I used my Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder to emboss the second mat.

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope your have a great day! Today the temps. are supposed to reach 80 degrees and all I can say is "It's about time"! The temps. have been rather cool around here lately and 80 degrees would remind me that summer is actually here! Have a good one!

Hugs
