Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #21 ....Color Challenge!

Well Hello Again!

This weeks Wild Flower Patch is all about the color combo of Lime Green, Lavender and Black. When I first read the details I was a little apprehensive but once I worked out the details, I have to say that I am pleased with the results. I really like this color combo!!!

Once I found the right design paper for my card, everything else came together wonderfully! My design paper ( by Die Cuts With A View) is a print with mixtures of lime green and lavender which helped me put my summer theme card together. Because the color black is a prominent color, I used it as a an accent with the hair, buttons and card stock base for the sentiment. My image, Beach Ivy is colored in with Copic Markers and I embellished parts of her outfit with Stickles.

You have a week to complete your challenge card and remember to let you imagination run wild and have fun with this weeks challenge! Now for more Wild Flower Patch DT inspiration and the challenge rules, please click here.

The Pixie Cottage # ....Sketch or Theme!

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

Today's Pixie Cottage Challenge is to make a card based on this weeks sketch or to make a card according to this weeks theme...paper piecing.

I had lots of fun with this weeks challenge and love the different flavors (stripes, polka-dots and gingham ribbon) that give my card a light and fun flair. With the exception of Sweet Molly's head, hair and hands, everything is paper pieced with different scraps of design paper. I started with my base image and proceeded to paper piece starting at her feet and working my way up to Molly's neck and cupcake. One thing that I like about paper piecing is that it's a great way to use up some of the scraps that we have laying around.

KLSNS #36.......Sketch!

Hello and Happy Saturday Stampers!

This weeks KL Stampin N' Scrappin Challenge kicks off with an awesome sketch designed by our very own talented DT member, Jodi. Thanks for the awesome sketch and inspiration Jodi!

I'm totally in love with the new C.C. Design images that Kelly carries at her on-line store and decided to feature the adorable Honey Bikini on my card. Instead of using design paper or card stock for the trio of panels, I decided to use sheer white lace*another sigh*

As with all of the KLSNS Challenges, you are free to use any stamp that you desire and are free to combine with other challenges. But if you have any of the stamps that Kelly sell at her on-line store, please feel free to use them!

instead. I also added Diamond Glaze to Honey's sunglasses but the shine highlights didn't photograph well. *sigh* As for my sentiment, I'm torn between saying "Happy 4th of July" or something pertaining to summer fun.

WFP Summer Release Blog Hop

Welcome To The Wild Flower Patch June Release Blog Hop! If you are coming from Leila's Blog (Green Goddess Creations) you are on the right path.

Today Wild Flower Kids is releasing their new June images! As you have might have seen from yesterday's preview, Jen Shults has created the most gorgeous summer digital images that include Beach Ivy, Sandcastle Violet, Surfer Reed and something special for those of you who are shivering on the other side of the world... Winter Dahlia. Jen is also releasing today some very special digital images to celebrate the release of Eclipse, Edward and Bella images that are apart of her "Twilight" collection!

If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Wild Flower Kids Challenge Blog As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stamper will win the entire new digital release!! And when you're done hoppin', be sure to head over to the Wild Flower Patch Store, because ALL the new images are NOW available.

I choose the new image Bella for our blog hop and I think she is super awesome and so fun for a teenage card. My card is fun and whimsical with a mixture of colors that might appeal to the younger crowd. Somewhere along the line I over looked that today's challenge was to make a card with a unique fold but I think that I am forgiven:) Bella is colored in with Copic Markers and I tried to make her skin look as pale as possible. The design papers are by Yellow Bicycle and I cut and sewed the papers on a diagonal. Because Bella thinks that she is getting older with each birthday, I picked this fun birthday sentiment from my collection of digi sentiments. Now let's keep the blog hop hoppin' along......

The Blog Hop List:

1. The Wild Flower Patch

2. Angela

3. Lelia

4. Risa (*me*)

5. Jenn

6. Leigh Ann

7. Donna

8. Jen S.

Your next stop....the super talented Jenn Koss!

Wlid Flower Patch Summer Preview

Hello And Happy Tuesday!

My family and I took a mini vacation to Grand Rapids for my granddaughters Graduation Open House Party and we had a great time. The weather was HOT and humid and cooking in the kitchen and decorating the house made things even hotter. I don't have any pictures to share but at the end of the day, my granddaughter Kia's Open House was a success and everyone had a wonderful time.

However, starting the week on a positive note, I do have a card to share today. The Wild Flower Patch Design Team is showcasing the new summer digi images and they are adorable! The name of my image is Sandcastle Violet and Violet is the poster child for summertime fun!

Violet is colored in with Copic Markers and the sky background was lightly background. To give the sand a sparkling effect, I add gold and diamond Sparkles to highlight. Other embellishments are lace, button and half pearls.

Jen (the illustrator and owner of The Wild Flower Patch) has designed some of the cutest new images and you really don't want to miss out on the this sneak peak. Be sure to stop by the WFP DT and check out the new WFP sneak peaks.

KLSNS #33...Shaped Cards

Hello and Happy Saturday Stampers!

Today's KL Stampin N' Scrapping Challenge kicks off with another great challenge...Shaped Cards! I already know what you are thinking and the possibilities are endless aren't they? *lol*

I ran across a few circular easel cards and decided to make an oval easel card. I wasn't exactly sure how to bring my idea to life but after throwing away a few prototypes, I finally came up with something that I could live with. I just wished that I wrote down the measurements. *sigh*

My adorable image, KiKi with Puppy is one of the many C.C. Designs Stamps that Kelly sells at her on-line store. KiKi is colored in with Copic Markers, cut out and mounted on an Nesties oval die. Because I didn't have any Nestie oval dies that would nestle inside the label 10 die, I had to use my Cricut Expressions to make a custom size oval mat. The lace is machine stitched to the Cricut Expressions oval mats.

For more KLSNS DT inspiration and the official rules, please click here. We also want to thank our growing number of challenge participants. Without you all, these challenges would not be possible! So keep up the great work and I hope to see you all again this week!

Designs (KiKi with Puppy), c/s SU's Melon and Papertrey Ink, design paper Pebbles, inks Copic Markers and Memento Tuxedo Black...tools used Nesties dies label 10, sewing machine and Cricut Expression to make inner ovals...embellishments lace, C.C.
