Wild Flower Patch Wednesday...Embossing!

Please scroll down to see this weeks Pixie Cottage's Challenge...

This week Jen decided to take it easy on us and The Wild Flower Patch Challenge is an easy one....Embossing! Yeah Jen!!!

I dug out some Basic Grey holiday design paper and made my first Christmas card this year. Yeah for me!! I trimmed out my digi image, Winter Dahlia and mounted her onto my Swiss Dots embossed mat. To give my card some holiday sparkle, I punched out some snowflakes, added some Stickles and half back pearls to them. I also applied Polar White Flower Soft to Winter Dahlia's cap for that puffy effect. Apparently I handled my card too soon because I notice that the puff ball is slightly dented. *grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

We hope that you are able to join in with this weeks embossing challenge. We would love to have you and can't wait to see your cards!!! For more WFP DT inspiration and the challenge rules, please click here.

Wlid Flower Patch #25... Color Challenge!

The Pixie Cottage is on vacation this week and will return next Wednesday.

Hello Again,

This weeks Wild Flower Patch Challenge is all about the colors BROWN, MANGO and CREAM. Don't you just love this combination of warm fall colors? I know that I do and with fall just around the corner, a challenge like this is kind of refreshing!

I colored my digi image (Poppy Butterfly Fairy) in with Copic Markers and added gold colored distress Stickles to her wings. I then trimmed away my image and mounted her onto a large circular shaped scallop. The design papers are from Basic Grey's Indian Summer paper pad and other embellishments are roses, half pearls and ribbon.

We hope that you are able to join in this weeks color challenge, as we look forward to viewing your cards! You aren't required to use WFP images but we would love it if you would. For more Wild Flower Patch DT inspiration and the official challenge rules, please click here.

Have a great day and enjoy the summer sunshine!!!

Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #24....Lace & Sparkle!

Note: This is my second post for today, The Pixie Cottage is directly beneath this post

Hello Again!

I'm back with another Wednesday Challenge! This weeks Wild Flower Patch Challenge is to make a card that features Lace and Sparkle!

My summer/beach themed card features the Wild Flower Patch digi image, Sand Castle Violet. Violet is colored in with Copic Markers and I tried to created an illusion of water by airbrushing the background with two different shades of blue. I created button flowers by applying double sided tape to the back of the lace. I then proceeded to wrap the lace in a circular motion until I reached a flowery effect. The sparkle effects were created by adding gold and diamond color Stickles to the sand castle and half backed gems in the corners.

For more WFP DT inspiration and the official challenge rules, please click here. We hope that you have a blast creating a card that's loaded with sparkle and lace! Have fun with the challenge and we can't wait to see your creations!

Wild Flowers Patch Wednesday #23....Sketch

Hello Again,
I'm back to announce this weeks Wild Flower Patch Challenge which is to make a card based off of this fab sketch designed by Leigh Ann Baird!

My card features the lovely Bella, and I kept this card clean and simple. Bella is colored in with Copic Markers and the strip of design paper is from my scrap bin. Originally I was going to leave the left side bare but it looked really bare, so I added a flourish of gems to fill in that portion of my card. My sentiment is by SU and I simply attached a little ribbon to the circular tag.

Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #22.....Grunge!

Hello Again.
Today is Wild Flower Patch Wednesday and that means it's time for another challenge. This weeks theme is "GRUNGE"! I'm a little out of my comfort zone with the grunge style but I'm starting to get the hang of it and it's fun!!!!

I distressed the edges of my design paper with my finger nail and tea dyed distress ink. I frayed my ribbon a bit and air brushed Flower Fairy daisy's background with light Sepia. The next time I make a grunge card, I will airbrush with a darker tone. So......at the end of the day, I think that everyone will interpret what grunge means to them. You can get as fussy as you want.... we just want you to have fun with the challenge!

Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #21 ....Color Challenge!

Well Hello Again!

This weeks Wild Flower Patch is all about the color combo of Lime Green, Lavender and Black. When I first read the details I was a little apprehensive but once I worked out the details, I have to say that I am pleased with the results. I really like this color combo!!!

Once I found the right design paper for my card, everything else came together wonderfully! My design paper ( by Die Cuts With A View) is a print with mixtures of lime green and lavender which helped me put my summer theme card together. Because the color black is a prominent color, I used it as a an accent with the hair, buttons and card stock base for the sentiment. My image, Beach Ivy is colored in with Copic Markers and I embellished parts of her outfit with Stickles.

You have a week to complete your challenge card and remember to let you imagination run wild and have fun with this weeks challenge! Now for more Wild Flower Patch DT inspiration and the challenge rules, please click here.

WFP Summer Release Blog Hop

Welcome To The Wild Flower Patch June Release Blog Hop! If you are coming from Leila's Blog (Green Goddess Creations) you are on the right path.

Today Wild Flower Kids is releasing their new June images! As you have might have seen from yesterday's preview, Jen Shults has created the most gorgeous summer digital images that include Beach Ivy, Sandcastle Violet, Surfer Reed and something special for those of you who are shivering on the other side of the world... Winter Dahlia. Jen is also releasing today some very special digital images to celebrate the release of Eclipse, Edward and Bella images that are apart of her "Twilight" collection!

If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Wild Flower Kids Challenge Blog As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stamper will win the entire new digital release!! And when you're done hoppin', be sure to head over to the Wild Flower Patch Store, because ALL the new images are NOW available.

I choose the new image Bella for our blog hop and I think she is super awesome and so fun for a teenage card. My card is fun and whimsical with a mixture of colors that might appeal to the younger crowd. Somewhere along the line I over looked that today's challenge was to make a card with a unique fold but I think that I am forgiven:) Bella is colored in with Copic Markers and I tried to make her skin look as pale as possible. The design papers are by Yellow Bicycle and I cut and sewed the papers on a diagonal. Because Bella thinks that she is getting older with each birthday, I picked this fun birthday sentiment from my collection of digi sentiments. Now let's keep the blog hop hoppin' along......

The Blog Hop List:

1. The Wild Flower Patch

2. Angela

3. Lelia

4. Risa (*me*)

5. Jenn

6. Leigh Ann

7. Donna

8. Jen S.

Wlid Flower Patch Summer Preview

Hello And Happy Tuesday!

My family and I took a mini vacation to Grand Rapids for my granddaughters Graduation Open House Party and we had a great time. The weather was HOT and humid and cooking in the kitchen and decorating the house made things even hotter. I don't have any pictures to share but at the end of the day, my granddaughter Kia's Open House was a success and everyone had a wonderful time.

However, starting the week on a positive note, I do have a card to share today. The Wild Flower Patch Design Team is showcasing the new summer digi images and they are adorable! The name of my image is Sandcastle Violet and Violet is the poster child for summertime fun!

Violet is colored in with Copic Markers and the sky background was lightly background. To give the sand a sparkling effect, I add gold and diamond Sparkles to highlight. Other embellishments are lace, button and half pearls.

Jen (the illustrator and owner of The Wild Flower Patch) has designed some of the cutest new images and you really don't want to miss out on the this sneak peak. Be sure to stop by the WFP DT and check out the new WFP sneak peaks.

Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #19 ...Sketch Challenge

Note: This is my second post for today, my Pixie Cottage post can be seen here.

Hello Again,

Today's Wild Flower Patch Challenge is to make a card based on this inspiring sketch designed by the super talented Jen Shults.

Although my card isn't an exact replica of the sketch, I think you get the basic idea of where I'm coming from.*ü* The name of my digi image is Iris and she is colored in with Copic Markers. I embellished her face by add tiny drops of Liquid Pearls to the dotted areas. I know I went a little overboard with the embellishments, but when I think of fairies, I see sparkles and any type of bling and lots of it! *lol*

We hope that you are inspired with this weeks sketch and join in with the challenge. All challenge cards are to be linked directly to The Wild Flower Patch Blog. One random winner will be selected to receive 2 images and 1 template from the Wild Flower Patch store. To be eligible to win please post your project by midnight CST on June 22nd. Have fun with this weeks challenge and show off your creativity!
