CBCC #32....Altering!!!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today is Tuesday and time for another CBCC Challenge! This weeks challenge was to alter these cute cigar cases that Courtney sent each DT member. After deciding what design paper and embellishments to use, everything came together quite smoothly.

This cigar case is kind of small but a perfect holder for note cards! I used my craft knife and carefully honed out the divider. To keep fingers from snagging on any pieces of stubborn plastic, I lightly sanded the insides of the case. The DP is by Three Bugs in a Rug and the embellishments are Prima Flowers, ribbon and pearls.

For more inspiration on this weeks challenge, be sure to check out the CBCC DT members blogs. Should you decide to participate in this weeks sketch challenge, simply link your creation up to Courtney's Blog before next Tuesday. And..... If you upload to scs / pcp, please use keyword CBCC31. Two for Monday!

Happy Monday to you all!
I'm going to celebrate "Two for Monday" featuring two cards the InStyle Stamps way! The first card is a formal type party invite featuring Marti. Since I'm a James Bond fan, the first thought that entered my mind when I looked at the martini glass was one of 007's famous sayings..."shaken not stirred"! (the way 007 likes to have his martini served) Although I'm not sure what a martini actually tastes like, I would be thrilled to receive a fancy party invite like this. It feels good to really dress up and enjoy the company of great people and fantastic food.

Card details...............
stamp InStyle Stamps, sentiment computer generated, c/s PTI and Cut Card Stock Company, DP SU , inks Momento Black and Copic Markers. To embellish I used ribbon, silver cord, Nesties, black pearls, extra fine glitter and liquid glass

My second card is a new Anime stamp, let me introduce you to Daisy! My kids are avid fans of Anime Cartoons and guess what....I am too! Yep....I've watched Dragon Ball Z and Naruto right along with my kids and we truly enjoy our family cartoon session.

In the world of Anime, hair can be pink, blue, green...you name it! I wanted a fresh look for Daisy and decided to color her hair pink. My step-daughter thought it was cool and coming from her....that's saying something. *lol*

Card Details......... stamp InStyle Stamps, sentiment Elyzabells, c/s/ SU and PTI, DP DCWV, inks Copic Markers, ribbon , MS butterfly punch and a yellow brad

For all of you that participated in the InStyle Stamps Blog Hop, thanks alot! It was a lot of fun and congratulations to the both winners... Tonya H., Sarah and Maria!

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today is Tuesday and time for another CBCC Challenge! This weeks challenge is to make a card using the following colors! This was a tough challenge for me.... but I guess this is why it's called a challenge. *lol*

The base note card color is Lavender Lace and I have have accents of Sage Shadow and blue on the card. The design paper is from Papertrey Ink which has splashes of the color So Saffron. The image is a Lili of the Valley download. Although the images are already colored in for you, I always add a bit more color with my Copic Markers to add some depth. To embellish my note card, I added flowers, pearls, ribbon and extra fine glitter.

Two for Monday!

Good Morning Everyone!Birdie
My mom was released from the hospital Saturday and is resting comfortably. However according to her doctor, he feels that she needs a pace maker for her heart. But.....because she isn't strong enough to endure the surgery, he doesn't recommended it. After having a family discussion, we agreed with my mom's doctor as well and will only agree to surgery if her condition deteriorates and surgery is the only answer. I want to thank everyone for all of your kind words! I am so blessed to have met some of the best people in the world...I truly am... and thank you all so very much!!Thank You

After a long and much needed nap, I was more than anxious to return to my crafting room. I tell ya' just siting at my table and creating something really helped to relax my mind.

My first card features Lilah and she is from InStyle Stamps anime collection. I just love her sassy look! While making this card, I was clueless for a sentiment and left the area blank. However, as I am typing, the light bulb came on! I'm going to computer generate the words " Hold that thought!" for this card. (I think that I will give this card to my husband. *naughty snickering*

card details............
stamp InStyle Stamps, DP SU, c/s PTI, inks Copic Markers, flowers, gems and liquid glass

My second card is for Roses on Paper's challenge #8....make a quilt card!
I was totally clueless and decided not to make a card until I visited Rita's blog. (Rita's Little Corner) The moment I saw her beautiful quilted card, the wheels in my mind started cranking like crazy!

Rita got the idea from Diane Gibbs* and I thank both of them for the inspirations!!! I simply love this quilt and I wish that I had one life this in real life. The Tilda image is from the Magnolia Stamp Club. The design paper is all SU and the card stock is Papertrey Ink. The image is colored in with Copic Markers and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I also used flowers and buttons to embellish my card.

Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge #23

Happy Thursday Everyone and it's time for another Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge! This weeks challenge is to make a card according to the sketch layout on my card. Nothing too complicated and a very easy sketch to follow. Should you decide to participate with LOTV Thursday Challenge, please link your card to LOTV Thursday Challenge blog. Every week, a very nice prize is given to the winner and who knows...the winner could be YOU! So what are you waiting for????

I had planned to do something different for this weeks challenge, but I had a family emergency and was at the hospital all day and most of the evening. My mom fainted in the nursing home and they rushed her to the hospital. For some reason my mom has a fainting spell a couple times a year. We usually are in the hospital all day as a result, and after the doctors run every test imaginable, they never can find anything wrong with her and send her back to the nursing home! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that she is OK. She's up in age a bit and is in the third stage of Alzheimer's.

Sorry about rambling there, the words just came out in a rush! So... to make my LOTV deadline in a timely manner, I resorted to using my LOTV download image Easter Bunnies. I tell ya' if you are pressed for time and need a card like... right now...these download images from LOTV are the perfect remedy!

To give my image a bit of my own personal touch, I used my Copic Markers and gave the bunny a bit more depth and used my gray marker for shadowing. The card stock is SU's Certainly Celery and the design paper is SU's Rainbow Sherbet. To embellish my card, I added Dew Drops, liquid glass, extra fine glitter and flowers.

I already know that I'm going to be super busy again tomorrow. Hopefully my mom will be alright and if the hospital releases her tomorrow, I should be home sometime in the afternoon. I haven't forgotten anyone and once I rest up, I will be around to see your lovey cards!

Until then, take care and thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs

CBCC #30....Sketch Challenge!

Wow...where on earth did the time go? I apologize for the lack of posting, it seems that "life events" around here became pretty hectic and the days seemed to just fly right by. SmileyCentral.com

Before I discuss my CBCC card, I want to wish everyone a ......Happy St. Pat's Card

Today's CBCC Challenge is a sketch challenge! I had a tough time trying to merge everything in the sketch and finally decided to just simplify everything. This is my take on the challenge and I can't wait to see what the other DT members came up with. I find sketch challenges very interesting because everyone's point of view is different and I love to see other people's interpretations of a sketch.

For more inspiration on this weeks challenge, be sure to check out the CBCC DT members blogs. Should you decide to participate in this weeks sketch challenge, simply link your creation up to Courtney's Blog before next Tuesday. And..... If you upload to scs / pcp, please use keyword CBCC30. Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge #22

Happy Thursday!

Today's Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge is to make a Mother's Day Card. I almost made a card with a few flowers on it but I decided to use these cute down load images from Lili of the Valley's on-line shop.

What's so cool about these images is that, they are already finished! All you have to do is down-load them, cut out the image you want and make your card! They also come in three different sizes..Sm. med. and large! (The image I used for my card is medium and the image on the candy tube is a smaller image.) This image is part of a set of four and the name of this image sheet is Fairy Tale Download.

I decorated the tube with a strip of DP that was punched on both ends with my MS lace punch. After I adhered the strip of DP to the tube, I simply added a sentiment tag with ribbon.

Card Details............
images from Lili of the Valley, sentiment computer generated, c/s SU and PTI, DP SU, Nesties rectangle dies, extra fine glitter, ribbon and Prima Flowers.

Should you decide to participate in this weeks challenge, post your card to LOTV . Each week they give away a fantastic prize and the next winner could be you! For more inspiration, click this link and check out the other LOTV DT cards!

Have a great day and thank you all for stopping by!

Great News!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

A while ago, InStyle Stamps had a few openings for design team members and here are the cards that I submitted. A week later.....I received some fantastic news...I made InStyles Stamps DT!!!! After being turned down a few times for other DT positions, I felt like giving up and just not bothering with applying for DT positions. But, after some serious thinking, I told myself "don't feel that way...a company can either say yes or no"! You never know what a company has in mind or what style they are looking for when they are looking for a person to be a member of their team. If you inspire to be on a DT, try not to get frustrated when they tell you "NO" and never give up trying!

I didn't notice that I forgot to color in his eyes until I after I submitted the card...talk about a nervous reaction! Now both eyes have color:)

When I received these images in the mail, I went to work on them right away and I was nervous in case I messed something up. It wasn't like I could re-stamp the image so I had to be extra careful. I also had to make the most of coloring with paper that I am not familiar with. However, in the end I was pleased with the results. Suzie Q. is from the retro collection and Jet is from the Anime collection.

Card Details............... c/s PTI, SU and Cut Card Stock, DP Making Memories and SU, sentiment SU and Stamping Bella, ribbon, brads and bronze clip a gift.

Well.....that's all for today. Take care, have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!!

Hugs
