Stamp Something Sketch Challenge

I made this card for the sketch challenge going on at Stamp Something. Once I saw the sketch I knew immediately that I wanted to give it a try and here is my take on the sketch. Almost a year ago, I made a comment to a fellow blogger about the number of sketch challenges that she participated in. (very naive during that time) She replied (very nicely) by telling me that sketch challenges helped her to think "out-side of the box" and challenged her creativity! Know that I know better, I totally agree with her wise words of advice! Thank you very much for your words of advice and I understand what you mean now.
This ballerina kitty is another image that I downloaded from Pink Petticoat. If you like "cutsey stuff" this is one place you really need to check out! Tomorrow is Friday and I have an adorable RAK that I want to share with you all! Have a great day and thank you for stopping by.

Friday Sketchers #7

Friday Sketchers Sketch #7

Feeling pretty decent today, I managed to make two cards using the sketch idea from Friday Sketchers. Although the beginning of the week started out pretty shaky, having some downloaded images from Pink Petticoat on hand did give me a bit of a jump start! I blasted some music to help get into a groove and I'm pleased with the results. After crafting almost all day, I realized that I haven't had anything to eat since this morning!!! I really should call it a day and just make a salad since it's kind of late in the evening. However......temptation is knocking at my door and I think I'm going to have a bowl of ice cream! hehe Thank you for stopping by and have a great day:)

My guest have returned home

My brother and his family have returned to Texas. I really enjoyed seeing him again and I'm amazed at how his children have grown!!! I guess next year it's my turn to visit them and see what Texas has to offer.

I did try to make a card this evening but nothing was working for me. I don't understand what happened to my creativity, but it sure ain't working! I threw away two disasters and I'm hoping that I can make something happen tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping by and a big thanks to all that left comments this past super busy week!

Mini blog vacation...

Hello everybody
My brother and his family are visiting and there just aren't enough hours in the day to entertain and stamp! While my relatives are here, I seriously doubt that I will have a chance to post anything for a few days. I should be back Thursday or Friday. Happy stamping and I will see you soon

Friday Sketchers #5

I think I'm hooked on Friday Sketchers sketch challenges. I completed this card late this evening and it was a challenge for me! Balancing the layers with similar design papers was a tough one. I almost quit but I hung in there and finished my card. I guess this is why I like these different challenges...they force me out of my comfort zone! lol Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

2 Sketch Challenges ....1 card!!!

Two sketch challenges with just one card....how lucky can a girl get???!!!
I feel like doing the "happy dance"!
My card is based on Alexadra's sketch design. While browsing the internet, I noticed that Caardvarks weekly challenge theme is about beverages. Well I was almost finished with my card for Alex's challenge and decided that my card would be perfect for Caardarks challenge as well!
Thanks for the inspiration Alex! Once I settled on an idea, everything finally came together as I planned. Thanks for the weekly challenges Caardvarks!

Late CPS Challenge....ouch!!!

I made this card for a sketch challenge held by CPS. I don't know how I overlooked the sketch deadline but somehow I did. Oh well...last weeks sketch was definitely a challenge for me but I'm glad that I hung in there and finished it! Before I close, we are having some wicked weather in my area. I tell ya... the past few days we have experienced severe thunder storms accompanied with very high winds. The damages from the high winds have uprooted trees and some streets are impassable. Thankfully there haven't been any serious injuries related to the storms.(In my area) It will be a major relief when this storm system weakens and fades out. Have a great day everyone and try to stay cool!

What does your hairstyle say about you?

Take this test!
Fashion schmashion. You don't worry about what's hot or who's cool since you've got the confidence to know what makes you feel good. And that's all that matters to a down-to-earth soul like you. Sure, it's fun to see what's on the runways, but if you won't feel comfortable in it, why bother?

You've got a sweet personality and fun spirit to brighten any occasion, and that's what makes your signature hairstyle so sophisticated. You don't use your hair or your look to change who you are — it's as lovely, simple, and radiant as you are. Naturally.

Hungry Little Bee

I don't plan to go dancing or anything, I'm just glad that the week is over!
I think that the bee stamp collection from Stampendous is just darling. From the moment I saw the summer collection, I knew I was in trouble! I'm trying to get a jump on a few cards before my brother and his family arrive. If I had a magic wand..... I would definitely use it to keep the lil folks "in-line" around here! *smile* Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine and the humidity....

On to the card details.....
stamp: Stampendous, sentiment: Stampendous, cardstock: Papertrey Ink, inks: Adirondack Pitch Black and Copic Markers, DP from my stash ,Nestabilities circle die templates, ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon and Dew Drops

*I added the sentiment "Happy 4th of July" later but was too lazy to take a picture at that time

Friday Sketchers #4

I managed to find time to finish a card that I started on over the weekend. This is another card for Friday Sketchers. I used two different stamps for this challenge and I am pleased with the results. The stamps are from Stamping Bella and High Hopes. The cardstocks are from Papertrey Ink and SU. The DP is from Making Memories. The inks are Adirondack Pitch Black and Copic Markers. I used Nestabilities Rectangle Templates to mat my image. The embellishments are ribbon (May Arts I think), Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, dimensionals, dew drops and extra fine glitter.
