Two For Monday!

Hello Everyone,

I had planned to post my cards earlier in the day and would have but I had to stop everything and prepare dinner. One thing about getting away from home is returning to it! I know it sounds kind of funny but there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed.
The weather in the UP was very windy and very cold! Thank goodness I wore my winter coat or I would have froze...seriously! We did have a little scare while on the road though. Due to the high winds, everyone had to drive very slowly across the Mackinac Bridge. It seemed like we were on that bridge forever and I was so glad to see dry land again! I'm all done with any thoughts of crossing the "Mighty Mack" until later next year.

My first card is for two challenges....Roses On Paper and Whiff Of Joy. This weeks Roses On Paper Challenge is to make a Christmas Card and the Whiff Of Joy Challenge is to make a card using the colors red and cream plus one additional color. Speaking of Roses On Paper, I didn't make the GDT this round. I feel little "blue" but heck, I'm not the type of girl that stays "blue" for long....... I'll get over it.


Although I am scared to death of mice, I'm not afraid of Henry! Henry's coat is a soft brown combined with the colors red, cream and my choice third color is green.

Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment and the boys have a dentist appointment after school. I already know that after running around town that I'm going to be super tired when I finally settle down.

WOJ Challenge #38

Hello Everyone,

This weeks WOJ Challenge is to make a card based on the provided sketch. This is my take on the sketch. I always make a copy of a sketch whenever there is a sketch challenge, but for some reason, my copied sketch was too large and I kind of "felt" my way through finishing my card. After seeing the sketch up close, I see a few mild "boo-boos" but I think enough of the main sketch can be seen.



The name of my image is Henry Celebrating Mouse. Although Henry is rather cute, I am deathly afraid of mice!!!

Here are my card details..........
image WOJ, sentiment SO, c/s Bazzill and Neenah Solar White, DP My Little Shoe Box and PTI, inks Copic Markers and SU's Pumpkin Spice for sentiment. Tools used, SU's scallop punch and scalloped scissors. To embellish my card, I used rhinestones, extra fine glitter, liquid glass, liquid pearls and flowers.

WOJ Challenge #36

Hello Everyone,

This weeks WOJ Challenge is to make a card based on the sketch drawn up by the talented Heather! I definitely will use this sketch again, I love the layers!



The name of my image is Shy Willow and she is part of WOJ's spring collection. The sentiment is from a pack of sentiments from MFT. The design papers are by DCWV (Nana's Kitchen 8x8 paper pad) and Bo Bunny's glitter paper. The card stocks are from SU and Neenah Solar White. Inks used were Copic Markers. To embellish my card, I used ribbon, flowers, MS lace punch and half pearls.



I hate to sound like I'm rushing, but I have another busy day ahead of me. So many things to do and on top of that, the holiday is only a few days away!!!! Where has the summer gone?!

WOJ Challenge #35...Paper Piecing!

I hope you all had a nice and restful weekend! After taking a weekend break away from my craft room, it felt refreshing to return to it today. I made this card for WOJ's Paper Piecing Challenge.
My image is an older WOJ image but I think Angel Charlotte is rather cute! The details of her dress and apron are a bit larger and easier for paper piecing. (to me at least )

WOJ Challenge #32...Brown and Blue!

Hello Everyone!

After a restful weekend, I really was in the mood to create a few cards. I can't speak for everyone else, but there are times when I have to back away from the craft table and simply clear my head.

While looking for different sketches, challenges and inspiration, I decided to make a card for WOJ's color challenge....brown and blue! This color combination isn't a particular favorite of mine, but once my card came together, I was rather pleased with the results.



Originally, my ribbon was blue but that did not work for me at all. I removed the blue ribbon and replaced it with this sheer ribbon from Flourishes and I loved it. Initially I had wanted to incorporate more hints of blue embellishments, but I decided that the blue smock,pants and umbrella were enough and met the challenge requirements.

WOJ Challenge #31

Hello Everyone!

While getting the house ready for the holiday weekend, I did manage to squeeze in some "me time" and make a card. Actually I was rather lucky because my husband and the boys did most of the outside work. Tomorrow, I won't be so lucky because I have a lot of cooking to do! Also, due to the fact that my moms birthday is Sunday, we will celebrate Memorial Day and my moms birthday together on Sunday. So... on that note, I doubt if I will be able to squeeze in any "me time" until after the weekend. However, every chance I get, I will be around to view your beautiful creations.




My WOJ challenge #31 card was inspired by Heather's lovely sketch...thanks for the inspiration!



My image, Melinda is colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment is part of a rub-on package from SU. The design papers are from A Muse Art Stamps and my scrap box. The card stocks are Bazzill and Papertry Ink. To embellish my card I used Nesties, MS lace punch, flowers, ribbon and pearls.

WOJ Card plus a couple of RAKS!

Hello Everyone!

Are there any Survivor fans out there? If so, are you ready for the BIG show tonight? I know I am!! On Sunday's I usually watch the Tudors, I really love the mini-series but I can catch up with it later tonight. I really hate it when I have to choose between favorite shows!

Due to the fact that CBCC will not have any more challenges until June, I had a little extra time to spare and made a card for WOJ's weekly challenge. The theme this week is to make a card using the sentiment "friend"!



When I started on this card, I had planned to make a shaker style card. Everything was going as planned until I realized that I didn't have enough of the thick dbl. sided tape! Dang......what a bummer. Instead of abandoning my project, I came up with a shaker "wanna be" card! *lol*

I also want to share a gift that I received from Denise (Denise Loves Stamps). Denise is such a treasure of a friend! She even sent me a bag of coffee all the way from Hawaii...I would have taken a picture of the bag, however, my mailman squeezed the entire envelope into our mailbox. The results.....the bag was bent out of shape pretty bad! I was so mad at our mailman!!!




Barb W. ( The Buzz) sent me this beautiful card! I love this card...the DP is so pretty and the color combo rocks! Barb has a beautiful blog, her card and layouts are super awesome!

WOJ Color Challenge!

Good Morning Everyone!
I sincerely hope that everyone had a better week than I did. I think I must have caught some kind of "bug" or something and I feel terrible!! It's a good thing that I already had an scheduled doctors appointment, I seriously need something for my stomach.

While laying around I did manage to make a couple of cards. I just didn't have the strength or desire to photograph them. In my opinion, taking the photos and coming up with something to say on my blog is hard work.

Well...enough chatting and onto the card.......
I made this card for Whiff of Joy's Challenge Blog. This weeks challenge theme are the colors Red and Green. I picked a fun image for this weeks challenge and Charlie is kind of "growing on me".

This is a very simple card, no extra layers etc. and because the ribbon captures the feel of the card, I didn't add an extra sentiment.

I made this card for Whiff Of Joys weekly challenges! Heather Huggins designed this

awesome sketch for the challenge.

If you like lots of layers,this is the sketch for you! I was intimidated by the layers at first, but once I decided on what papers to use it was a cinch! I thought about my design papers from Imaginisce (Fairest Of Them All). I think this design paper is really cute and I love the soft colors and feel of it.

I decided to use the " Willow with cookies" image for this challenge. I love this profile of Willow, she reminds me so much of my niece when she was a kid. This one is for you Shannon:)
