The Pixie Cottage/Team Sketch and Back 2 School!

Good Morning!

The Pixie Cottage is kicking off today with a super fun challenge and that everyone will enjoy. Today's theme is "Back 2 School"! As with all of our challenges, you have the choice to make your card according to our sketch or you can stick to the theme and if you are feeling adventurous, why not try both!

Although I don't have a school themed Pixie Cottage Stamp at the moment, I thought that these adorable owls would work out perfectly. The mama owl is sending her kiddies off to school and telling them that is is their time to shine. Smiley from millan.net

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

I designed my treat bag with bright and bold fall colors and limited my embellishments with a simple ribbon ,half back pearls, Stickles and a small trio of flowers. My treat bag is stuffed with paper trimmings from our paper shredder.Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

All That Scraps...Die Cut Challenge!

Well.....here I am again with a new card for the All That Scraps Die Cut Challenge! I made a minor "boo boo" and had to pull my previous card. But no worries cause I quickly put together a new card:)

My new card is a 4X4 scalloped square easel card that I made with the large Spellbinder dies. My image, Puppy Kiki La Rue, is matted on Spellbinders curved rectangle die. The design paper and die cut sentiment are both from a retired paper pack by Dena's Closet. I've had this paper pad since I started my crazy hobby three years ago and I absolutely LOVE every single sheet of paper in that pad. You would think that it wouldn't hurt to cut a little bit and use more of it every now and then but it does! Is this insane or what?! *lol*

Pixie Cottage #30....DT Sketch or Fancy Folds!

This is my second post for today, click here for my ATS Die Cut post.

Hello Again!

Over at The Pixie Cottage, it is challenge time again and as with all of our challenges, you can either make a card based on our sketch or the theme. This weeks sketch was designed by our talented designer Pam and this week theme is fancy folds.

I made a pocket card and I'm hoping that it counts as a fancy fold. My mind sort of went blank for a minute and instead of wasting more time and paper, I made up my mind and settled on the pocket card for my project.
My pocket card features one of the newer Sandra Hammer images, Hannah With Apples. I brought this lovely apple design paper last year and I think it is perfect for Hannah With Apples! To give a little contrast, I added a few left over scraps from my October Afternoon paper pad.
Here is what the pocket looks like on the inside of my card and I kept it rather simple and used a small magnet to keep it closed instead of ribbon. The other magnet is tucked away in the corner of the pocket and I used glue dots to keep the magnets secure.

For more DT inspiration and the official rules, please click here.

stamp The Pixie Cottage (Hannah With Apples), sentiment computer generated, c/s Bazzill and PTI, design paper Adorn it and October Afternoon, inks Copic Markers ...tools used Scor Pal, MS border punch, glue dots and magnets...embellishments ribbon,Stickles and a string of half back pearls

I hope that you have fun with this weeks challenge, as we look forward to viewing your creations. Have a beautiful day and thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Lady Raven & Kitty Katastrophe

Hello Everyone,

I made a pair of Goth style cards for the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz On The Dark Side Challenge and for a couple more challenges in blog land as well.

My first card features Lady Raven and I wonder what she has on her mind? Lady Raven has a devilish expression that's captivating for sure. But if I were a guy, I would approach this young lady with caution because she is definitely a charmer!

My second card features Kitty Katastrophe and she is my favorite Kenny K. Gothik Angelzs image.

Kitty K. has a sweet expression and her big doe like eyes will get ya' every time!

Initially I was going for a darker look for this card but could not help myself and had to add a few touches of pink for contrast.

card details........ Both digi images are by Kenny K. ( Lady Raven and Kitty Katastrophe), sentiment by Sassy Studio Designs (Adventures in Sassyland Sentiments), card stocks for both cards... Bazzill, The Cut Cardstock Co. (blk.) and PTI, design paper for card #1. All SU except for the gingham scrap piece and for card #2 Heidi Swapp...inks Copic Markers and background airbrushed...Tools...card #1...sewing machine and SU tab punch...tools for card #2 ..stapler.....embellishments Stickles (both cards) buttons, half back pearls and ribbon

Wild Flower Patch Wednesday...Embossing!

Please scroll down to see this weeks Pixie Cottage's Challenge...

This week Jen decided to take it easy on us and The Wild Flower Patch Challenge is an easy one....Embossing! Yeah Jen!!!

I dug out some Basic Grey holiday design paper and made my first Christmas card this year. Yeah for me!! I trimmed out my digi image, Winter Dahlia and mounted her onto my Swiss Dots embossed mat. To give my card some holiday sparkle, I punched out some snowflakes, added some Stickles and half back pearls to them. I also applied Polar White Flower Soft to Winter Dahlia's cap for that puffy effect. Apparently I handled my card too soon because I notice that the puff ball is slightly dented. *grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

We hope that you are able to join in with this weeks embossing challenge. We would love to have you and can't wait to see your cards!!! For more WFP DT inspiration and the challenge rules, please click here.

Hello Again,

The "Pixies" are well rested and back again with more challenges! This weeks sketch was designed by the talented Jacqui (Welcome To Cat Whiskers ), and we thank her for the inspirational sketch! Now as some of you already know, you have a choice with our challenges. You can either make a card according to the sketch or make a card that supports the weekly theme. This weeks theme is "feeling blue" and I decided to go with soft blue colors for my card and based my card off of Jacqui's sketch.

I used double sided paper by Reminisce for my card and machine stitched most of the mats. Baby Blake is colored in with Copic Markers and I embellished my card with ribbon and buttons.

All That Scraps ...Color Challenge!

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!
Today is definitely "hump day" for me because I three challenges to post. Here is the first of three. Sit back relax and I hope you enjoy!
Moving right along with my trio of Wednesday challenges, All That Scraps wants you to get creative with Chocolate, Kraft and Aqua!

I tossed around a few ideas and settled on using the Kraft card stock as my card base. I complimented the Kraft with Chocolate card stock and a mixture of designer paper. My layout is rather simple and features Fairy Tales Cupcake Belle.

Cupcake Belle is colored in with Copic Markers and her cupcake topping and candle flame are embellished with Stickles. I really love the contrasting colors of aqua and chocolate, the colors compliment each other beautifully and I plan on using this color combination again and again!
