High Hopes Challenge #19

Good Afternoon Everyone!



This card is for a relative and for High Hopes Challenge #19 , This weeks challenge is all about sponging. Sponging is not a strong suit for me at all and I handled this challenge very carefully. Because as you know, once the ink is sponged on...it's on! *lol* In the back of my head, I had a recurring nightmare of me accidentally dropping my inked sponge onto my finished image. I tell you...I handled this challenge a bit nervously and this is my take on the challenge.

Nesties square and sm circle dies, paper piercing, extra fine glitter, flowers, liquid glass and pearls

High Hopes Challenge #14

Hello and Happy Friday!

This weeks High Hope Challenge is to make a card for a boy or "dude"! This means no cute flowers etc. To play it safe, I made my card for a young boy, I think it is a bit easier to win kids over with googly eyes. *lol* After I was finished with my card, I asked my 11 yr. old son for his opinion. All he said was "it's alright"! Well...this is his favorite word right now and since his facial expression didn't turn to one of horror ...I guess I'm safe. *lol*

To embellish my card I used googly eyes (Impress rubber stamps), jumbo red brads, SU's round tab punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder, extra fine glitter, paper piercing and ribbon.

High Hope Challenge #13

Good Monday Morning!
Today's card is for another High Hopes Challenge card. The challenge for this week is to make a card featuring dry embossing on your card. I was a bit late getting my entry for challenge #12 posted and I made sure to post challenge #13 on time.



Since I know a few gals that are in the" family way" , I'm getting ahead on some baby themed cards. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to stop procrastinating and get things done in a timely manner. So far........I'm doing great and I hope the year ends this way.

Card Details.................

Stamp High Hopes Rubber Stamps (Precious Cargo), sentiment SU's Bundled in Love, card stock SU's Bashful Blue and PTI, The DP is from Pebbles Inc. "My Baby Boy Star". The inks used were Adirondack Pitch Black, SU's Bashful Blue and Copic Markers. To embellish my card I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder (I'm not sure of the folders name) and Nestabilities rectangle dies. I also used my paper pierce tool, punches from MS and SU, Kaiser pearls, ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, silver cord, extra fine glitter and a love charm.

High Hopes Challenge #12

Hello Everyone!
No.... this card is not a tribute to the Purple Hat Ladies *lol* This is my take on High Hopes Challenge #12. This weeks challenge was to feature torn paper on your card. When I was really off into making scrapbook pages, paper tearing was a favorite way to embellish my pages. The stamp is a High Hopes Stamp and her name is Hannah's Heart.



This stamp can be purchased at either High Hopes Rubber Stamps or Little C's Stamps N' Things.

The heart design paper is by Flair Designs and the c/s is from PTI and SU. The inks are Adirondack Pitch Black and Copic Markers. To give my torn paper a "little something", I ran my finger under the faucet and gently rolled the edges of my corners a bit. After that I ran my mat through my sewing machine and simply sewed in a random fashion. The inks used were Adirondack Pitch Black and Copic Markers. My image is matted onto a Nesties circle die and I embellished the hearts with liquid glass. I also used extra fine glitter on the butterfly and finished my card with ribbon, silver cord, a charm and tiny pearls for the corners.

At this time I'm not certain of what sentiment to use so...I left that area blank for now.

Friday Sketchers #10 and Stamp Something Sketch Challenges

Isn't it great when a girl can cover two challenges with one card! I certainly think so! *wicked grin* This is my take on Friday Sketchers #10 sketch challenge and Stamp Something's 3 for 3 challenge. Following the sketch above, I used 3 layers of paper (by S.E.I.) , 3 embellishments and 3 colors (not including the cat...he had to have color...at least I think so)

The stamp and sentiment are by High Hopes . This stamp is a bit larger than the average stamp, so my card is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 . The image reads "Make a Wish" although the "a" looks like the number "2" to me! lol My image was stamped twice and I mounted the second layer of balloons with pop dots for added dimension. I stamped my image using Adirondack Pitch Black Ink and Copic Markers. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the flowers are stick ons from my stash.

Quickie Card!!!

A few weeks ago, I stamped and colored various stamps and put them away to use later. Hopefully this will help me out some, especially when I need a card right away! This particular stamp by High Hopes is among my favorites! The sentiment is also by High Hopes and I really love the way it reads. I choose soft pastels to frame the stamp and the strip of DP is a scrap. The buttons and ribbon are from my stash. I stamped with Adirondack (Pitch Black)and colored my image in with Copic Markers.
Since I'm a bit tired, I think my post will be a quickie too! *smile* Take care and have a great day.

*ETA I made a mistake and mentioned that my stamp was made by Whipper Snapper. Thanks to a pair of "sharp eyes" I realized my mistake and made a correction. The Stamp is a High Hopes Rubber Stamp!

Ila's High Hopes Sketch Challenge

A few days ago I finished coloring my High Hopes stamped image and was at a lost on what to do with it! While browsing and leaving my comments on various blogs, I noticed that Ila has a sketch challenge going on. While studying the sketch, I knew immediately that my stamped image would work well with it. I tried different DP backgrounds but I wanted something different. While looking through my stash, I found this laser die cut paper that I purchased from my LSS. I originally brought this paper for my scrapbook layouts but decided to give it a try on my card and I was pleased with the results.
This card is larger than the normal sized cards.(6 1/2 X 5 1/2) I made it larger because my image is larger than the average stamp. When I purchased this stamp, I got a couple of freebies as a bonus, and the puppy was a freebie! After coloring in both images with my Copic Markers, I cut them out and applied pop dots for dimension. Instead of using a square mat, I decided on a circle and set the girl image within the matted circle. I placed the puppy at her feet. To embellish my card, I used Stickles, gems, flowers and mini-brads. I don't know why the Stickles look so dark, IRL it looks better. I like some sparkle when I embellish but sometimes I don't feel that Stickles is giving me the "umph" that I desire. I think from now on, I'm going to try using an extra sparkly type glitter.

I brought this elephant stamp from High Hopes last year and I rediscovered it! A few days ago I spotted a card that featured an elephant holding a tray of cupcakes....it was so cute! Anyhow....all kind of ideas ran through my head and I remembered my elephant stamp. I immediately went to work and made a template to support my idea. The rose printed paper is from my stash. The pink cardstock is SU's Pretty in Pink and the white cardstock is Solar White from Ellen Hutson's. I stamped my image twice, trimmed the second image and layered onto the first image with pop dots. The inks are StazOn Black and Copic Markers. The ribbon is SU's Pretty in Pink and the rose is from Michael's. The dew drops are from Ellen Hutson's. The sentiment is from Elzybells. I also used Crystal Stickles as an embellishment.
I'm OK with the results, but when I return to my scrap area I'm going to make adjustments. I'm not going to trim the area between the ears...and I'm not going to trim the second image too closely either! Each time I tried clean these areas up..I made a bigger mess! I learned a lesson with this one:)
