Hello And Happy Holidays!

Millan.net
Hello Everyone,

Yes.....I'm still here and although we had a beautiful Christmas, I'm glad that it is over! My husband, neighbor and myself worked like mad people putting the final touches on the basement because we wanted it ready before Christmas. My crafting area is finally finished and because we were super tired, all of the recreational stuff we brought for the basement is still encased in boxes. I had envisioned our guest playing pool or some of the other games that we brought, but that didn't happen, we simply ran out of time and energy.

In the meantime, I'm nursing my sore and rough hands, the strong adhesive from the floor tiles left my hands feeling so rough and dry! yucky!!! I hate the way my hands feel and can't wait for the skin the repair itself. Here a a few pictures of what the basement and my craft area look like now.

I can't wait to visit you blogs to see what you have been up to and to see your beautiful cards!
Have a beautiful day and thank you all so much for understand:)

LOTV Thursday Challenge......New Year!

Good Morning Everyone!
I apologize for my absence from the blogging scene, I have so much going on right now that it isn't funny. My husband and my neighbor have finally finished remodeling our basement and the clean up and sorting has been a job indeed. I have a new crafting room and the recreation area for the family looks fabulous. Now I'm in the process of moving my craft supplies back into the basement and sorting through papers and stamps deciding what I want to keep, give away or sale. I didn't realize that I had so much stuff! So, in the meantime, I (we) have our hands full getting the recreation room and the rest of the house in tip top shape before the Christmas. I wish that I had some before and after pictures but the basement was so ugly that I didn't even bother with taking pictures. Now the area is brighter, the walls are paneled, the floor re-tiled, a drop ceiling was installed, and I finally have some storage! Nothing fancy but way better than it was before. I will take some pictures and post them next week:)

This weeks LOTV Challenge is to make a card celebrating the "New Year"! I know that I have a sentiment that says "Happy New Year" around here some where, but at the moment, I had to forgo a sentiment. In my head, I imaged the angel belting out a tune of Happy New Year wishes.

I wanted a sparkly New Year's card and once I had finished coloring my image, I rubbed my Versa Mark pad over the entire image, applied embossing powder and SU's Dazzing Diamonds on top of my image. Then I crossed my fingers and applied my heating gun to my image. I have to tell you, I was rather pleased with the results!

For more New Year card ideas, be sure to check out the LOTV Blog to see the DT creations. Keep in mind, you have two weeks to finish your card and all challenge cards should be linked up with the LOTV Blog. You aren't required to used LOTV Stamps but if you have them, why not use them:) Click on this link for more information. Have a great day and we can't wait to see your creations!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #5

Hello Everyone,

Today is the beginning of a new Pixie Cottage Challenge and the challenge is to make a card based off of the following sketch.

My card features Hannah (sitting on a bench) designed by Susan Hammer. This particular image of Hannah is a bit large and to accommodate the size, my card base is 6X6. Hannah is colored in with Copic Markers and the background is lightly airbrushed with B00. I used scraps for the design paper and the base card stock is by Bazzill. The embellishments are flowers, half pearls,a tiny dab of Liquid Pearls (earring) and paper piercing around my images mat. The sentiment is from MFT.

Keep in mind that you have a week and a half to complete your card and are free to use any stamp that you desire. But, if you own any Pixie Cottage Stamps, feel free to use them:)
We also want to thank all that participated in The Pixie Cottage's challenge #4. All of the cards were beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Have fun with the challenge and we can't wait to see your lovely creations! For more information and to see if you are a winner, click here

Hugs

Your Turn To Shine........

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Tuesday to you!

I'm trying very hard to get into the "card mode" and pushing myself right now. I can't afford to slack off right now because there are way too many things to do! I don't want to bore you with my " honey dew" list because I'm sure that most of you are in the same boat. *lol*

I was inspired to make this card after I heard about the new Disney Movie, The Princess and the Frog. My card features The Pixie Cottage's Ballerina Fairy. Ballerina Fairy is colored in with Copic Markers and embellished with extra fine glitter.

The card stock is Bazzill and the design paper is by Bo Bunny. I embellished my card with half pearls and roses and the sentiment is from The Greeting Farm. I wish that I could have taken a better photo, but the skies have been on the gray side lately making lighting rather difficult at the moment.

According to the weatherman, there is a big snow storm brewing out west and sometime today we will be covered under a blanket of snow. I'm not a big fan of the snow but living in the northern regions, it is something that you just have to deal with. On a happier note, the kids can't wait for the snow to arrive, they love it and as a child, I did also.

Well...I'm off to get a few chores done before the kids arrive home from school. Have a great day, drive safely and thank you all so much for stopping by!

Pixie Cottage ....Anything but a card

Good Morning Everyone,

Today's Pixie Cottage DT Saturday Showcase theme is Anything But A Card. I found the inspiration for my project here a few months ago. The original dimensions for the wagons base are 4X5 inches and were a bit too small for me, I experimented with the dimensions and ended up with a base of 6X5 inches for my wagon .

I was pleased with the results and plan to make a few of these wagons for the kids teachers as Christmas presents.

I made my Christmas tag with The Pixie Cottage's Jolly Old Elf Stamp which is designed by Alisa Ramirez. Jolly Old Elf is colored in with Copic Markers and the fur along his cuff and cap are covered in with Sparkles. For fun, I added a white pom pom to his cap as well.

For more inspiration, be sure to check out The Pixie Cottage DT blogs. I have already seen a few of their projects and they are awesome!

Project details................
card stock, Scor Pal, 3/8" circle punch, 1/2 " circle punch, tiny candy cane for handle and brads. Scrap pieces of DP for the presents, ribbon and silver cord. The image is from The Pixie Cottage.

Have a beautiful weekend and thank you all so much for stopping by!

I'm doin' a "happy dance" right now!

Hello Everyone,

My Internet problems have finally been resolved! I have a new router box and along with some wiring adjustments I couldn't be any happier at the moment. I missed my computer so much and to keep from going "stir-crazy" I re-read the Twilight saga and went to see New Moon three times!!!

I have also missed viewing all of your beautiful cards and can't wait to see what all of you have been up to!

Take care and thank you all so much for your kind words:) It feels great to be back!
