Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #22.....Grunge!

Hello Again.
Today is Wild Flower Patch Wednesday and that means it's time for another challenge. This weeks theme is "GRUNGE"! I'm a little out of my comfort zone with the grunge style but I'm starting to get the hang of it and it's fun!!!!

I distressed the edges of my design paper with my finger nail and tea dyed distress ink. I frayed my ribbon a bit and air brushed Flower Fairy daisy's background with light Sepia. The next time I make a grunge card, I will airbrush with a darker tone. So......at the end of the day, I think that everyone will interpret what grunge means to them. You can get as fussy as you want.... we just want you to have fun with the challenge!

Patriotic Anya

Hello Everyone,

I can't believe that we are into July already, the summer is cruising by so fast already! Well after a month or so of taking a semi- break and adjusting to different medications for my menopause, I guess I'm ready to get back into the swing of things and visit my friends in blog land. I tell you, I was feeling like a depressed fool and just going through the motions around here. I had no idea that menopause could make a person feel so weird ...hot flashes, depression and no energy and for a moment nothing was helping me....just making me feel worse. Well after trying different medications, I'm starting to feel like "me" again! I also want to thank everyone that stopped by to say "hello" to me....your acts of kindness really meant a lot to me and I appreciate each and every one you!!!

Now getting back to the card, I found this sketch on Quixotic challenge blog and decided to give it a try and combined it with a patriotic theme. My image, Showtime Anya is an oldie but still a goodie and so perfect for my patriotic theme. One simple ribbon flower and a flourish of gemstones were used to embellish and ta da...the end! *ü*

Once again, I want to say a big thank you to everyone and I hope that you all have a beautiful and safe holiday weekend!

Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #21 ....Color Challenge!

Well Hello Again!

This weeks Wild Flower Patch is all about the color combo of Lime Green, Lavender and Black. When I first read the details I was a little apprehensive but once I worked out the details, I have to say that I am pleased with the results. I really like this color combo!!!

Once I found the right design paper for my card, everything else came together wonderfully! My design paper ( by Die Cuts With A View) is a print with mixtures of lime green and lavender which helped me put my summer theme card together. Because the color black is a prominent color, I used it as a an accent with the hair, buttons and card stock base for the sentiment. My image, Beach Ivy is colored in with Copic Markers and I embellished parts of her outfit with Stickles.

You have a week to complete your challenge card and remember to let you imagination run wild and have fun with this weeks challenge! Now for more Wild Flower Patch DT inspiration and the challenge rules, please click here.
