Good Morning everyone and...

Today's post is going to be a short one. I imagine that a few of you have a lot planned for today, so I'll keep it brief.

Today's card is my first as a guest designer for Lili of the Valley. I don't know how I confused the post dates, but I did. *sigh* When I discovered that I should have posted my card this past Thursday...I felt crushed! I made a mad dash and made a card. I feel OK about this card but I know that I could have done better. I'm really sorry Jacqui. I always try to do my best and I feel as though I let the team down. I know it sounds mushy and all but this is how I feel.

High Hopes Challenge #17

Hello Everyone,

I made this card based on a sketch designed by Katharina for High Hopes Challenge Blog. What a great sketch Katharina and thank you for the inspiration!



The stamp is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and the sentiment is computer generated. ( I don't own the H.H. sentiment to match my stamp and ended up typing and printing a sentiment instead.) The inks used are Copic Markers. The card stocks are from SU (Choc. Chip) and Paper trey Ink (Stampers Select and Kraft) The design paper is from Papertrey Ink also (Chocolate Remix) To embellish my card, I used ribbon (PTI), pearls, Cuttlebug embossing folder, SU's corner punch and applied paper piercing.

Elzybells Single Layer Challenge

Happy Rainy Day Thursday Everyone!

Today's card is a single layer card and I tell you, this type of card can be a bit tricky. I remember trying to make a single layer card almost 2 yrs. ago and I simply could not make it work! What was so hard about it? Well... to tell you the truth, in my mind....simple cards are harder to make! After making three cards for the Elzybells single layer card challenge, I finally made one that was decent and this is my take on the challenge.

Lili of the Valley Challenge #17

Hello Everyone!

This weeks Lili of the Valley sketch challenge was to make a card for the "male". I have been meaning to buy a stamp that is oriented for an older male, but somehow I haven't done so! Just when I think I'm going to take the plunge and buy a guy type stamp, a cute stamp catches my eye and there you have...I'm still without a guy stamp.

So while thinking about what to do and how to go about it, I thought about the designer paper I brought some weeks ago. The DP by Piggy Tales featured a slew of guitars on it and on the reverse side the guitars are larger. I decided to cut out one of the guitars and base my card around it. After I cut and trimmed the guitar, I matted it on red c/s and trimmed it again just leaving a bit the the red c/s as trimming. I then colored over the guitar with my Copic clear glitter pen and to give the guitar a shine, I applied Liquid Glass to it.



I used my Cricut Expression to cut the letters and stars and used silver brads and black ribbon to decorate my card.

Elzybell Valentine Project

Good Morning Everyone!
After fiddling around on my blog, I think everything is back to normal....and thank goodness for that! As I sit here typing my post, I can't get over how beautiful and sunny it is. The past few weeks, the weather has been so cold and today it feels like a beautiful Spring day. According to the weatherman, the temps. should reach 58 degrees! Although these conditions are temporary, it really feels great and the fresh air feels so good.



OK....I won't bore you with my blabbering. Lately I have been practicing with my Cricut Expression Machine. I really have a lot of stuff to learn and I have to admit that this machine is loaded with possibilities. To make my box, I used the cartridge Tags,Bags,Boxes and More. After I assembled the box, I used my hand held heart punch to create tiny hearts for embellishment.




The tag features an Elzybell image and the sentiment reads "My Funny Valentine".

The box is stuffed with shredded tissue paper and I stamped the words "Happy Valentines Day" on the cellophane bag of chocolates .
