Two for Tuesday!

I made two cards for today but here's the deal....two cards...three challenges! The first card is based on a sketch by the talented Jacqui of WOJ! I love this sketch and plan to use it quite often. Thanks for the inspiration Jacqui!

Just Magnolia and Roses On Paper Challenge
This weeks Just Magnolia Challenge is to make a card based on the sketch drawn by the talented Martine. The Roses On Paper Challenge is to make a card using the colors ... warm red, brown and orange. Speaking of Autumn, it is one of my favorite seasons. I love the vibrant colors of the leaves and crisp cool air...so fresh and clean!



Huh- Hum......Getting back to my card, both the JM and ROP challenge are merged onto this card. Although the ROP Challenge didn't include the color yellow, I only used it to balance out the orange color.

Little Miss Attitude!

Hello Everyone!

Wow....it seems like forever since my last post but in reality, it's only been a week! Well, now that I am over the worse part of my summer head cold, I can focus on what I love to do and that is making cards! *LOL*

I don't know if the meds. had anything to do with the bright colors that I chose for my card but at the time, this color combination looked good to me!



Little Miss Attitude is colored in with Copic Markers and for fun, I applied Orange Stickles to her shoes and the hearts on her dress. I have a container filled with a variety of Stickles that I haven't used for almost two years! Would you believe that they are still in good condition...the glue substance is still fluid and none of my Stickles bottles have dried up...what a surprise!

The base card stocks are by Bazzill and Papertrey Ink. The DP is by DCWV. I used my Nesties curved rectangle die to mat Little Miss Attitude. Good Idea Gone Bad #22....I decided to leave a hint of the second mat...which was cool. The bad idea was to apply faux stitching to the orange mat...yuk! Oh gosh...what was I thinking...the faux stitching stinks!!! Anyhooo...I'm gonna stick this card in my "make-over card pile" and attend to it later.

Other embellishments.....EK Success scallop punch, flowers, buttons, scrappers floss and ribbon.

I feel so terrible!

Hello Everyone,

I caught some kind of bug over the weekend and I feel terrible! After spending the entire day in the bed and taking meds. all day, I feel a little bit better. The queasy feeling in my stomach is gone but my head feels like it weighs a ton! I always get this crazy pressure between the eyes .... I tell you, colds are worse in the summer!!!

Well, I'm going to drink a glass of juice and head back to bed.

Roses On Paper and Just Magnolia Challenges!

Hello and Happy Saturday!

While getting my thoughts together for this weeks upcoming challenges, I decided to make one card combining two challenges. This weeks Roses On Paper challenge is to make a card featuring hearts and Just Magnolia's challenge is to distress your card. I'm not that sure of myself when is comes to distressing, so afraid I'll mess up or something. However, I did distress along the edges of my images mat and the flowers.



My design paper is by DCWV (Nana's Nursery baby girl stack). After fiddling around with several pieces of design papers, I made a rough outline for my card base and sewed the pieces together. My image (Tilda with Birdcage)) is colored in with Copic Markers and matted onto oval shaped Nestie dies. The strip of c/s that features the sentiment is distressed also. Inks used were Copic Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (used to stamp my image) and SU's Pink Piourette and Impress Old Rose.



To embellish my card, I used ribbon, flowers and heart shaped brads.
