I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday. I really thought that I would have time to post more pictures before Christmas but life is too hectic right now! I have to make cookies and attend Christmas Parties at the school and wrap presents yet! There just are not enough hours in the day right now and my weekend is jam packed too! I don't want to bore anyone with the mundane detail because I'm sure most of you are having the same experiences.

I will pop in and visit everyone when I can squeeze in a moment and leave comments. Have a safe and happy holiday and I will see you all after Christmas.

You Crack Me Up!

This is what the sentiment says on the inside of the card. I love this Whipper Design Stamp and the duckling is so cute! I wanted to make a fun card and took a break from making Christmas Cards. It was refreshing to make something different today. The sentiment is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and the stamp is a Whipper Snapper Design. The card stock is from Papertrey Ink (White), Bazzill (Royal and Ocean Blue) and Stamping Up (Old Olive and Certain Celery). The printed papers are scraps from my stash. The embellishments are pearls, Primsa Flowers and Stickles. The inks are Copic Ciao Markers. The oval and square shapes were made using my spellbinders. The ribbon is from SU (Certain Celery) and Michael's

How is the weather in your area?

This morning we were hit with a major snow storm! The snow didn't taper off until this afternoon and it is bad out there. It my husband over an hour to plow the drive-way and walk way. I'm going to use this situation to my advantage and crank out some more cards. I will post some "happy mail" tomorrow and two new cards that I have made today. If you live in an area of the country that has been hit by this same snow storm, don't go out unless you have to and be safe. Usually we don't get extreme weather until January and February, hopefully we will have an early Spring. *fingers crossed*

Sugar N Spice and Everything Nice....

I have admired Elzybells Stamps ever since I saw a card posted by Jen Balcer some time ago. Jen's cards are beautiful and she is an inspiration to me as well. I had no idea how tiny these Elzybells are! I was totally surprised when I lifted the small bag out of the box. It was love at first sight and I promptly went to work. I wanted my card to be pink and white and it had to have "bling". I think that I will be paying the Elzybells site another visit soon!

Materials

cardstock: Papertrey Ink White and The Cutcardstock Company Pink Shimmer

stamp: Elzybells

sentiment: Stampendous (the sentiment is inside the card)

inks: Palette Black and Copic Ciao Markers RV21 and RV04

bling: em*BELLA*shments (pink)

scallops: Spellbinders Sm. oval Nestabilities

ribbon: Michael's

Cuttlebug: The Snowflake Folder

Other embellishments used were Marvy Uchida's sm. snowflake punch, pop dots,SU's paper piercer and Stickles

Thank you for visiting and have a great weekend!

I've been very busy lately and just think, I still have a few more cards to make! *eyes rolling* lol I have been practicing using my Copic Markers and I finally am getting the results that I worked hard to achieve. All of the images are colored in with my Copic Markers, and I used my Prisma Pencils and OMS to create some shading.
Thank you for stopping by

Snowflake Crush....

Hello everyone!
The month of December is speeding by so darn fast! There are 16 days until Christmas and I still have a mountain of work to do around here. How many of you are done with everything? Those that are done, how on earth did you make it all come together? Inquiring minds *me* really want to know. *smile*

This snowman card is identical to the previous snowman card I posted last week. The only difference is the scallop mat is red. This is my first year making my own Christmas Cards and all of them are going to be "quickies"! For some reason, I have a serious crush on this Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. Next year I will probably hate it (lol) but for now, this folder is the perfect accessory for my quickie 4X4 cards!

Take care everyone and if you have any tips, please share them with me.

Simple Christmas Card

This is another simple Christmas Card that I have made. My theme this week is simple cards.
cardstock: Papertrey Ink White and The Cutcardstock Company Red Shimmer

stamp: The Cats Pajamas snow flake stamp
ink: SU's Real Red
I also used Stickles, pop dots and gems to embellish
ribbon: Michael's

Frosty the Snowman

I have made a batch of quick and easy cards basically just using my Cuttlebug to emboss the base of the card. In my opinion, it is easier to make a bunch of cards if you keep it simple. The majority of my Christmas Cards are small....4X4 in size. Usually my cards are a bit larger but I'm really starting to like the smaller sized cards.

Materials:
cardstock Papertrey Ink White
stamp: WhipperSnapper
ink: Palette Black and markers
embellishments used were glitter pens and I also used my Spellbinder's to cut out the die and to emboss it.
ribbon: Michael's

For Maria

I am participating in Maria Bells blog candy challenges this week and one of the tasks was to show your craft space. At first I was shy but I know what it looks like when it's clean and purdy. *smile* Maybe one day I will post some "before and after" pictures! Maria I am enjoying these tasks that you have posted daily and I look forward to the next one:)

Well this is my "get away from it all area". My craft area is located in my basement and sometimes I am very thankful that it is. Tornado's touch down in this area often. I think a F7 tornado touched down today!

Wow.... just showing my craft area in the shape that it is now is nerve wrecking. I made this huge mess within two days! I become so absorbed into what I am doing and all caution was "thrown to the winds". Whenever I am in this state of mind, I can see my stuff's better when it's a mess.*lol* However, when I am done with a project I go through this ritual of cleaning and sorting my scraps etc. Whenever I start on a new project my table is clean and everything is organized. I have no idea what happens in between.*wink*

Got Milk?

Hi and how is everyone doing out there? I finally got around to making some cards this past weekend and I plan on posting one everyday this week! All of the work that we are having done in our home should be done by Friday! I will be so happy to have have everything organized around here! Now back to the good stuff....cards! lol
This gingerbread man stamp is from TAC (The Angel Company). I embossed the card with my Cuttlebug. (snowflake folder) The inks used StazOn Black and Prismacolor Pencils with OMS. The embellishments used were Stickles and my White Gel Pen. The paper is from Papertrey Ink and the ribbon is from SU.
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day:)

Here's a lil something to read!

Although I happen to love Maxine, I want to warn that some of the material may be sensitive to some....just a warning. I hope to be back tomorrow with some fresh material. I wonder if I am the only one that waits until the last minute to shop etc.? I tell ya, I will be so glad when the holidays are over. I need my sanity back! lol
PRESIDENT IN 2008?

Here we are already discussing the future President of the United States in the Year 2008.

For those of you who would like a choice for President, we have a solution: It is probably time we have a highly qualified woman as President. One choice is a very special lady who has the answers to all our problems.

PLEASE give it a thought when you have a moment...

MAXINE FOR PRESIDENT!

Very eloquently put ... don't you think?

Maxine on 'Driver Safety'. 'I can't use the cell phone in the car. I have to keep my hands free for making gestures.'...

Maxine on 'Housework' 'I do my housework in the nude. It gives me an incentive to clean the mirrors as quickly as possible.'

Maxine on 'Lawn Care' 'The key to a nice-looking lawn is a good mower. I recommend one who is muscular and shirtless.'

Maxine on 'The Perfect Man' 'All I'm looking for is a guy who'll do what I want, when I want, for as long as I want, and then go away. Or wait nearby, like a Dust Buster, charged up and ready when needed'

Maxine on 'Technology Revolution' 'My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice.'

Maxine on 'Aging' 'Take every birthday with a grain of salt. This works much better if the salt accompanies a Margarita.'
'I'm telling you ... she's the perfect candidate.'

'The only two things we do with greater frequency in middle age are urinate and attend funerals .'

'The trouble with bucket seats is that not everybody has the same size bucket.'

'To err is human; to forgive, highly unlikely.'
'Do you realize that in about 40 years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos and pierced navels?? (Now that's scary!)'

'Money can't buy happiness--but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.'

'After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching somewhere . you may be dead.'

If you don't forward this to ten of your friends within the next five minutes, nothing will happen ... but you'll rob them of some much-needed laughter.

First Snow Fall and my Secret Santa Gifts!

When we returned home yesterday, I was surprised to see a package sitting on my doorsteps! The box contained my gifts from my Secret Santa! Last month I participated in a Secret Santa Swap and I didn't expect my gifts to come so early! Ilene Murphy had my name and she made me so happy! It's like she knew exactly what I liked. The papers, stamp and embellishments are so perfect. I love my gifts and thank you so very much Ilene and Happy Holiday Wishes to you.

Here are a couple pictures of our first snowfall. I took these before we left on our Thanksgiving holiday vacation. The highways were clear and in the town my son lived in there wasn't any snow at all!

Another B&W Card

The weatherman is predicting a snow storm for our area tonight, I know that the snow will come eventually but I wish it would wait a couple of days! *smile* We are supposed to go out of town in the morning and spend two days with my oldest son and his family. Since I have no control over the weather, I'm going to try not to worry about it. *nervous smile*
This B&W Card is my final card for a few days, I'm going to take a break and get back into my routine. I'm trying to make a series of cards before the holidays and some of them will be arriving on someones mail box very soon!

The stamp is from The Angel Company. I really like this stamp and it comes in a set with four silhouettes. The card stock is from Papertrey Ink (white) and The Cut Cardstock Company (Black Shimmer). The B&W print is from my scrap stash. I used my Spellbinders Die Cutting System to cut and emboss my card stock. The inks used were Versa Mark and StazOn (Black). I embossed the stamped image with Black embossing powder. The flower and pearl are from Stampin Up. The ribbon is from Michael's.

The 2-5-7-10 box is a favorite of mine. The instructions can be found at Splitcoast Stampers. The card stock is Papertrey Ink (white). The stamp is from The Cats Pajamas. I used Black Stardust Stickles and the ribbon is from Michael's.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope everyone has a beautiful Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving Holiday!
To show my appreciation to Angie, I know it's late but I haven't forgotten.
I am so thankful that God has blessed me with a loving family and wonderful friends. I have grown to realize that things happen in life for a reason and that when one door closes another one opens. I have made mistakes along the way and some I regret deeply. However no matter how much it hurts I am strong enough to say two simple words" I'm sorry". I am thankful that God has blessed me with the common sense to know that I am not always right and the strength to apologize when I hurt someone else's feelings. It takes courage to say "I'm sorry" but you feel much better afterwards.

I am so thankful that my mother is alive, although she doesn't know who I am anymore I'm still thankful! I thank God for my mom's tough love, the experience of her fussing at me and the long speeches that followed. I would love to pick up the phone and hear her beautiful voice laughing or fussing....the complete package!

To make a long story short, I am so thankful for life itself. I hope that everyone enjoys their day and don't forget to tell someone how much you care about them today and above all...Thank the cook for the wonderful meal (even if it wasn't) *smile* thank her/him anyways.

Peace
Risa(Malieta)

I can see the light.....

I can finally "see the light at the end of the tunnel"! I finished my Secret Santa Project and made five cards this past week. I had a few "ups and downs" but everything finally started to come together for me. I wished that I could have spent more time on the computer but there are just too many things going on around my house right now. We are having some work done around the house, and everything is a mess right now and I'm trying to make cards.....lol Since the work on our home isn't extensive, everything should be done before Christmas and I can't wait for everything to be in it's proper place around here.

Due to my lightning issues, I made a picture box. It very rustic looking right now since I wasn't sure if it would work or not, however from my viewpoint the pictures do look brighter. I will see how everything turns out when I download the pictures.

All of the stamps are from Papertrey Ink and the sentiments are a mixture of MFT and Papertrey Ink. Cardstocks are Papertrey Ink White, Cut cardstock shimmer Red, Green and Black. Inks are StazOn Black and Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. The embellishments are Red Pearls, Stickles and the ribbon is from Michaels. On the X-mas Card with the tree stamp, I applied paper piercing (Ornare) and I used my Spellbinders die cutting machine for matting.
