Flower Girl.................

Hello Everyone,

The minute I laid eyes on these new Elisabeth Bell for SCAD images, I simply had to have them! I placed an order at Susana's Custom Art & Design Cards and was amazed at the quick delivery service. Susana is a sweetheart...very courteous and to top everything off, she even included a few free goodies with my order!

The name of my image is Susan and I think she is beautiful. I love her facial expression....I wonder what she is thinking about? Perhaps she is thinking about surprising her mom with some freshly picked flowers, or maybe she's just received some flowers from her boyfriend? I'm such a dreamer....*blush*

Susan is colored in with Copic Markers and the design paper is by DCWV (Nana's Kitchen). I matted my image is Nesties rectangle and scallop die and embellished the frame with Prima Flowers. My scallop border was made using my scallop border punch from EK Success. I love my Martha Stewart Punches but in my opinion, EK Success wins hands down because the punch is able to penetrate heavier weighted paper. I'm not sure of the paper weight of DCVW, but the EK Success Punch cut through the DP as if it was butter!

Other embellishments are ribbon, Liquid Pearls and half pearls.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Magnolia Challenge #15!

Hello Everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend, or what's left of it. As for me, the day the flying right by me, a minute ago, it was morning time and now it's late in the evening. Where on earth did my day go!!! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

This weeks Just Magnolia Challenge is to make a card based on the sketch designed by the talented Tab. Thanks for the inspiration Tab!

My Magnolia image is from a RAK that I received last year. While looking for a stamp to make my card, I discovered an envelope full of Magnolia images in the back of my stamp drawer. I seriously have to organize my stamp collection again, my drawer is getting a bit messy.... again! *sigh* Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net
Tilda is colored in with Copic Markers. I added Liquid Glass to the tiny hearts on her shoes and extra fine glitter to her wings.
The design paper is from SU and the card stocks are from SU and Papertrey Ink. To embellish my card, I used ribbon, Prima Flowers, half pearls and paper pierced my images mat.

Enjoy what is left of your day and thank you so much for stopping by!

WOJ Challenge #40...........

Hello Everyone,

After a spending most of the day napping and lounging around , I finally mustered up some energy to complete my card for this weeks WOJ Challenge. This weeks WOJ Challenge is to make a card based on a sketch designed by the talented Donalda. Thanks for the inspiration Donalda!

I colored my image (Melinda Hugging Heart) in with Copic Markers and I went a little overboard adding shading effects along the seam of her jeans. I didn't realize how deep the shadows were until after I photographed my image but in a mild way, I sort of like it! The card stock is by Bazzill and Papertrey Ink. The design paper is by DoodleBug. To add a bit of texture, I ran my circle piece through the CuttleBug using my Swiss Dots embossing folder.

To embellish my card, I used Shimmerz (Candle Light) on the ribbon of the candy box and her bracelet. I also applied Liquid Glass to the hearts on the box and Melinda's bracelet. To give Melinda's wings some sparkle, I applied extra fine glitter. Other embellishments are ribbon, half pearls and flowers.

Have an great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

InStyle Stamps Wednesday Color Challenge!

Hello Everyone,

I had wanted to post my card earlier but due to problems with our cable provider, I wasn't able to. We have the cable bundle which means our telephone, Internet and cable are provided by our cable company. I have heard of other people having problems every once in a while, but until last night....we have never had a problem. Imagine...no telephone, cable or Internet services for over 9 hours! I'm so relieved that the our cable is working again....I missed my fav. programs and my computer. Smiley from millan.netThe telephone is something I have to put up with though...it rings all the time! *LOL* Smiley from millan.net

This weeks InStyle Stamps Challenge is a color challenge, you have to make a card using the colors purple and green!

The prominent color of my card is purple with splashes of green to compliment. I paper pieced the dress of my image (Gidget) with design paper from Papertrey Ink. After I adhered the paper pieced dress to Gidget, I noticed that only one green polka dot was within the pattern. To spice things up a bit, I added more green polka dots to Gidget's dress with my Copic Marker.

I made my card base with Nesties Label One die and the mat is with Nesties square and scalloped dies. The card measurements are 4 X 4. I used Copic Markers to color in Gidget's skin tones, hair, shoes and Hula Hoop. The sentiment is stamped directly underneath my image.
My card is embellished with flowers, half pearls and ribbon.

To play along with the challenge, simply make a card using a stamp from InStyle Stamps and post to ISS blog. Have fun!!!

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Himawari Baby Card Challenge!

I'm back again with another set of cards for Himawari's Baby Card Challenge. I should have had finished my challenge cards weeks ago! I kept telling myself that I had time and the next thing you know, I'm posting right on the deadline date. Whew!

These adorable Himawari images are made in Hawaii and they really are super cute! And....if you are pressed for time, these graphic images are the way to go! All you have to do is select your image, and mat to your decorated card.

To give a little dimension to my images, I shaded in some areas with my Copic Markers and used my white gel pen to highlight certain areas. I also applied Liquid Glass to the eyes if my Himawari images. The Hawaiian girl image card is 4X4 and the surfer dude card measure 4X 4 1/2.

Card details for girl.................
images Himawari Baby Images, sentiment MFT, c/s PTI and SU, DP SU, Nesties oval die, image was trimmed and mounted to oval die, flowers, ribbon and half pearls

Card details for surfer dude..................
image Himawari Baby Image, sentiment Stamping Bella, c/s PTI and SU, DP DCVW, Nesties

Summer Breeze............

Hello Everyone!

After a good nights rest, I woke up super charged and in a mood to create some cards! I really missed my craft room while on my mini vacation but you know what they say...."absence makes the heart grow fonder". At least in my case it did....my fingers were itching to make something!

While trying to catch up on some card challenges, I decided to combine two challenges for my first card. The Just Magnolia Challenge is buttons and the Roses on Paper Challenge is Summer and vacation. This design paper by Piggy Tales (Ants Go Marching) literally screams summer! I mean, what is summer without ants, ladybugs, bees etc. Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net Because the design paper is a bit busy, and I had to incorporate buttons for the JM challenge, I decided on a simple layout.

To avoid my buttons disappearing into the design paper, I simply adhered them onto the ribbon framing my image.

card details..........
stamp Magnolia, card stocks PTI, and Bazzill, DP Piggy Tales (Ants Go Marching), Copic Markers, ribbon, buttons, scrappers floss and half pearls.

I'm Back!!!!!

Hello Everyone,

I hope all of you have had a wonderful week and a super weekend! We arrived home about an hour ago and it feels great to be home again. We stayed in Grand Rapids with our relatives and each day was a new adventure. I really LOVE Grand Rapids and would eventually like to move there one day.

In the meantime, I'm looking at suitcases and bags that need to be sorted and put away. I love to pack up stuff but unpacking is another story....I hate it! *LOL*

As soon as I get everything sorted and relax a bit, I will be around and catch up on my blogging.

Thank you all so much for stopping by!
