RAKs and Candy

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm popping in this morning with a super quick post. I have a couple of RAKs and some candy winnings that I want to share with you today.

This RAK is from Gina Wrona. Look at that intricate ribbon design, very pretty!

This St. Patty's Day card is from Barbara Walker. I wish that my camera could pick up the little sparkles that are in the card stock, so pretty IRL!

This adorable RAK is from Gail Binette. Gail stopped blogging over a year ago but still loves to make beautiful cards. I wish she would return to blogging though but she doesn't have the time right now.

I won this candy from Shirley N. a few weeks ago and was so shocked because I rarely win anything!

Thank you ladies so much for making my day shine even brighter! You gals are the best!!! Have a great day everybody and enjoy the sunshine!

hugs

KLSNS Challenge # 23 .....Box it Up!

Hello Everyone,
This weeks KL Stampin N' Scrappin Challenge is a super fun one.... we want you to create a decorated box or Easter basket! The choice is yours and the creative possibilities are endless!! I am super excited about this challenge and we look forward to viewing your creations. We also want to thank all of the participants of our last challenge. Thank you so much! Oh...did I mention that Kelly is giving away an Easter treat valued between $15.00-$20.00 as this weeks prize?! You don't wanna miss out!
I created by box my making a template from an oatmeal box, but I reduced the size and made it smaller. I kept everything simple by omitting the lid and made a handle instead.
My image is Sugarplums Party and the design paper is by TPC Studio's and is titled "Girlfriends". Sugarplum is colored in with Copic Markers and to give off the rock star effect, I added streaks to her hair. Embellishments used were a silver and maroon flower, black half pearls and ribbon. The sentiment was clipped from the design paper.

For more DT inspiration and the official challenge rules, please click here.
Reminders: Only a few more days left to use the March code, and if you haven't already -- sign up for the mailing list to get special offers at Kelly's store that aren't always announced here on the blog. :)

My project meets the requirements for the following challenges...... All That Scraps.........Sketch
Pal Paper Arts.....Anything but a card

Have a beautiful day and enjoy your weekend!

The Pixie Cottage Designers Showcase Saturday

Hello again,

It seems like ages since The Pixie Cottage has featured a Designer's Showcase but we're back on track! Keep in mind that the designers showcase is not a challenge, the DT simply showcases new and coming Pixie Cottage Stamps.

When I pictured my image (Beary Tiny) in my mind, the image of a baby quilt came to view. I cut out the images that represented spring and new beginnings from DCWV Nana's Kids design paper and pieced together a quilt. After I arranged the pieces, I sewed them together and finished assembling my card.

To give Beary Tiny some dimension, I stamped her twice and adhered the top layer over the original image. I also added spring flowers, ribbon,a button and Stickles as embellishments.

The Pixie Cottage Design Team went "all out" with the designers showcase this week and their cards are totally adorable! To see more of the designers fabulous creations, click here.

card details.... image...The Pixie Cottage (Beary Tiny), sentiment SU, card stocks...PTI and Bazzill, design paper DCWV (Nana's Kids), inks Copic Markers, Embellishment ribbon, button, half back pearls and Stickles...Tools sewing machine, 1" circle punch, paper pierce tool and sm. edged scallop scissors

My card meets the following challenge requirements ......

Cute Card Thursday....Dimension
Crafty Cardmakers.........Spring into Spring
Ooh La La ....A button, A bow and some bling

I hope that everyone has a beautiful weekend ! Now that I can finally catch my breath, I can enjoy a little "me time" and catch up on my blogging duties. See you soon!

Wild Flower Patch Kids Digi Image...Alice

Good Afternoon Everyone and Happy Friday! I've been super busy the past few days creating cards and the days have simply flown by me. One day it was Tuesday and the next moment Friday is staring me in the face! While in my creative frenzy, Smiley from millan.net I made a card that qualifies for several different challenges based off of this awesome sketch by Creative Belli.

My image is a free Wild Flower Patch Kids digi download and her name is Alice. Jenn Shults, the owner of Wild Flower Patch Kids, occasionally gives away free digi images that you can use to support the Wild Flower Patch Kids Challenges.

Initially I had three homemade flowers ( the ribbons are recycled from my disaster pile)* but my card looked a little crowded and I removed one of them. As an afterthought, I should have taken off an additional flower because my card looks a little odd with only two flowers. Smiley from millan.net My design paper is by My Minds Eye (Mary Mary Collection) and to me this paper is gorgeous and so perfect for spring cards. The papers are double sided, the texture is nice and the patterns compliment each other beautifully!

My image (Alice) is colored in with Copic Markers and I airbrushed the background area. One of my favorite techniques for adding dimension is to paper pierce some or all of my design paper. My design paper has a pretty spring pattern with flecks of pretty green and polka dots. I also embellished my image by applying glitter to the apron and socks.

Two For Tuesday!

Good Morning Everyone,

I guess that you could say that I am on a roll today, I finished two cards last night and it feels great to be on a roll again.
I was inspired by The Pink Elephants sketch challenge and incorporated a few other challenges onto my card as well.

My image is the adorable Emma Puddle Jumper and her pal "Mr. Bunny". I applied Flower Soft on the bunny's tail to make it pop but I'm not crazy about the results. I think the area was too small for the cotton tail effect. For the set of three challenge, I have three set of papers and two sets of felt flowers. (furry effect) I also used ribbon and my image is colored in with Copic Markers and the colors are a spring/Easter type combo.

card details....
image..Claudia and Company Emma Puddle Jumper, card stocks Bazzill and Papertrey Ink, design paper TPC Studio (Bunny Hop), Inks..Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic Markers, Embellishments felt flowers, half pearls, ribbon, Nesties lg. circle and scallop dies, Stickles, Flower Soft (Polar White) and MS scalloped border punch. Background was airbrushed

For my second card, I used another favorite stamp of mine.... The Pixie Cottage's Sweet Molly for the following challenges.

Raise The Bar.......Fruit

Cupcake Craft Challenge.....Food or Drink

Pixie Dust Studio.......The Power of 3's

Flutter By Wednesday's.....Use the color green or shamrocks

Little Red Wagon....Copic Markers

I brought this yummy DP a year ago and made myself use it for the food and fruit challenges. The design paper is from DCWV Sweet paper pack and to me the papers are so cute... you almost hate to use them. Molly is colored in with Copic Markers and the sentiment is from Magnolia. Other embellishments are Prima Flowers, Liquid Pearls, Stickles and EK Success border punch.

Thanks for all of your lovely comments, I appreciate you words of kindness. I'm feeling better and a dose of sunshine wouldn't hurt either:) Take care and have a great day!

Hello Everyone and Happy Saturday!

Today the KL Stampin N' Scrappin team has a new challenge in store for you. This weeks theme is to SEW on your cards! You can apply hand stitching, use your sewing machine or add faux stitches, it doesn't matter, get creative and have fun with the challenge:)

I know that you have to be sick and tired of me apologizing for being MIA but I can't explain what is going on with me at the moment. I just feel "down" and my energy levels are at an all time low at the moment. I'm going to buy me some vitamins and make a doctor's appointment. I think my hormones are acting up or something and I just want to feel "like myself" again and soon. Smiley from millan.net

Getting back to the challenge, I made my card with a newer C.C. Designs image. The stamp is designed by Amy Young and the name of my image is Peter Rabbit. Emma P.J.

Hello Everyone!

Although the past few days have been a little stressful, I think that I can relax a little and focus my attention on what I love to do..... make cards. I haven't sat at my crafting table since Friday and my "mojo" was not working for me at all this morning! It took me forever to make my card today! I wasn't happy with anything and spent way too much time on it and for me that is a sign that my mojo isn't working. After taking a little break, I got myself together and finished my card and even managed to incorporate the following challenges that are listed below.
I used the adorable Emma Puddle Jumper for my image and based my card from the Totally Gorjuss challenge sketch.

My image is a newer C.C. Designs image (April Rabbit ) and she is also sold at Kelly's on-line store. I love the look of mix-matched design paper patterns and used two different papers from Basic Grey's (Phoebe) paper pack. It's fun to try different techniques and I'm pleased with the results:)

For more information regarding the rules of this weeks challenge and for more DT inspiration, please click here. I hope you have time to play cause I would love to see your cards!

I apologize for being MIA the past few days. The day after the twins birthday party, I was notified that my best friend was diagnosed uterine cancer. My friend had surgery Thursday and hopefully the doctors were able to remove all the cancer. I'm praying that all is well and that my friend will be OK. I also want to give a word of advice, if you have gone through menopause and haven't had a menstrual cycle in years and all of a sudden you start your cycle, go see your OB/GYN immediately! Try to have a beautiful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs
Risa:)
