Happy Halloween!

Millan.net

Due to a lot of activity going on this weekend, I don't have a card to share today. My husband and I headed up to the Upper Peninsula for two days .... sort of a mini get away. My niece is staying at the house with the kids while we are away, so no worries there! In the meantime, I would like to share with you a few RAKs that I received last week.

The first beautiful RAK is from Jana (2 Worlds)

Created by Jana

Denise (Denise Loves Stamps) sent me this adorable Halloween card.

Created by Denise

A big surprise from Janine (2BKrafty) ..... She made a birthday card for her BIL a few weeks ago and challenged everyone to guess what was inside the card. Another blogger and myself answered the question correctly and we won the prize! Talk about shocked when I opened the box! Each gift was wrapped up individually and beautifully in purple sheet paper. I honestly don't know how Janine made everything fit so perfectly and neat!

I want to thank all three of you for making my day! You ladies are AWESOME! Smiley from millan.net

Have a terrific day and thanks so much for stopping by!

What a Doll!

Hello Everyone,

Today I have another card featuring this lovely image from The Pixie Cottage that I want to share with you. The name of my image is "What A Doll" and I think she has the prettiest eyes!

Because I wanted to show off my image, I kept my card design pretty basic. I embossed the top half portion with my Swiss Dots embossing folder. The bottom portion is design paper from DCWV (Nana's Kitchen). My card is embellished with ribbon, flowers and half pearls. My image is colored in with Copic Markers and I carefully applied tiny dots of Liquid Pearls to the flower centers of her dress.

Getting off the subject of my card...my husband and I are going up north for a two day get away and I won't have access to a computer. I have pre-scheduled this post and I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

So in between Halloween parties and celebrations, I hope you have a beautiful day and thanks so much for stopping by! Millan.net

Pixie Cottage Challenge #2...Celebrate!

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday Wishes To You!

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge theme is to make a card based on the word "Celebrate"! This is a awesome challenge because you are in control of what you want to do! How cool is that?! Before I go any further, I also want to thank all of the participants who participated in our first Pixie Cottage Challenge. We had 34 participants!!!! Way to go Pixie Cottage! As of this moment, I don't know who the winners are but to see if you are a winner.....click here.

To participate in this weeks challenge, you can use any stamp that you desire. If you have Pixie Cottage Stamps, feel free to use them. You can also combine your challenge card with other blog challenges as well! You have 10 days to complete your card. Once you are finished with your card, link it up to the Pixie Cottage Blog. All "celebrate" challenge cards are due by November 8th and must be posted to the Pixie Cottage Blog by midnight (EST). Have fun with the challenge and we look forward to viewing your creations!

For my "celebrate" card, I chose this delightful image (A Little Witch In All Of Us) created by our multi-talented DT leader, Kristen Kelsey. My card is a easel style card and I found the instructions for this card here (A picture by picture tutorial by Suzanne Dean). I was hesitant to make on of these cards because it looked difficult but they are really super easy to make!
I also made a matching treat box for my card. My kids feel that they are "too old" to go Trick-or-Treating and my boys wouldn't be caught dead with this box! Once I fill the box with candy, I think my daughter will give it to one of her friends...either way.....I'm fine with the kids decision.

For more "celebrate" inspiration....be sure to click on the DT members names below. You won't be disappointed!

ROP & JM....Halloween Theme & Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone,
Today I have combined two challenges for one card. This weeks Roses On Paper challenge is to make a card or project based on Halloween. Animation from millan.netThe Just Magnolia challenge is to make a card based on the lovely sketch designed by Martine.

I don't own any Halloween themed Magnolia's, or Belle 'N Whistles or any of the stamps that are required for ROP challenges and had to "make- do" with what I have. My order of Magnolia's arrived a few days ago and I couldn't resist using Magnolia's 60's Tilda. I think she is super cute and see myself using this image a lot in the future. Although I'm not 100% satisfied with this card, I think that one will get the general idea that this is a Halloween card.....Smiley from millan.net

card details.......
image Magnolia 60's Tilda, sentiment SU, c/s PTI and The Cut Cardstock Co., dp Reminisce, inks Memento and Copic Markers, oval nestie die, ribbon, flowers and black half pearls.

Now I have to get down to business and do the laundry. Sometimes I hate doing the laundry but somebody has to do it! *lol* Smiley from millan.net Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Pixie Cottage Saturday.....Winter Theme!

Every other Saturday, The Pixie Cottage DT will present a sneak peak of new rubber stamps. I chose the adorable Hannah and her sled. I think Hannah is so cute and that Sandra, the creator of Hannah does such a beautiful job detailing her images!

Hannah is colored in with Copic Markers and I embellished the trim of her coat with Flower Soft. The blue background colors were airbrushed on after I finished coloring my image. To make the snow look sparkly, I added a layer of Stickles, let it dry and then I repeated the process about three time for the added dimension.

The design paper is by 3 Bugs In A Rug. The card stocks are by Bazzill and Papertrey Ink. The embellishments are ribbon, one red button and red half pearls. The sentiment is from Elzybells Art Stamps.

To see more winter themed sneak peeks, click on the names of the Pixie Cottage DT. You won't be disappointed!
I hope you enjoy the view of our winter themed sneak peeks! Have a beautiful weekend and I hope that it is full of sunshine! If so, please send some sunshine my way.....we really need a little sunshine around here:) Take care and thanks so much for stopping by!

Suzette Ketto

Hello and Happy Friday!

I finished putting together a card and treat box last night featuring Suzette Ketto. The amazing tutorial for the treat box can be found here. Teri is very creative and her tutorial is amazing! Thanks for the inspiration and the fab tutorial Teri!

The bright and cheery design paper is by DCWV. I apologize for the darkness of the pictures but the skies are very dull and gray in my area right now.

Suzette Ketto is colored in with Copic Markers and I air brushed the background color. I'm still getting the hang of using the airbrush compressor and trying to learn how to color evenly :( I embellished Suzette's flowers with Stickles (Fruit Punch) and applied tiny dots of Liquid Pearls to her dress. The oval die cut is embellished with 3mm size half pearls.

I wanted a uniform look for both the card and treat box and applied the same embellishment to my card. I'm sorry if I seem to be a bit rushy, but after a week of producing almost nothing, I have a lot of catching up to do. I'm going to take advantage of the gloomy day and produce a couple of cards.

Pixie Cottage Sketch Challenge #1Update
The deadline to link your challenge card to the Pixie Cottage Blog is fast approaching. All challenge cards must be linked to the Pixie Cottage Blog Sunday night by midnight (EST). Click here for more details. We also want to thank all of you that have already submitted a card for the sketch challenge. So far, we have over 25 entries (and still counting) and that is great for out first challenge!

Saturday (tomorrow) ........Pixie Cottage Sneak Peak Day of New Stamps! I'm so excited about these new stamps...talk about "rubber cuteness"!!!

Until tomorrow, have a great day and thank you all so very much for stopping by!

LOTV Thursday Challenge #39

Hello and Happy Thursday!

This weeks LOTV Challenge is to create a card based off this awesome sketch designed by our very own Marcea. What a fab sketch with lots of fab layers! Thanks for the inspiration Marcea!

My image is a sneak peek of LOTV new line of stamps that are simply named "Boys". The name of my image is "Boys-computer fun" and he will be on sale the first week of November. I think the main reason I chose this stamp is because of the little boys
facial expression.
In all honesty, I have seen this same expression on both of my boys faces when they are playing on their Play Station. The intense and focused look followed by rapid thumb twitters on the game controller...I tell ya' this image stole my heart!

As with all LOTV Challenges, you have two weeks to complete your card. You don't have to use LOTV Stamps but if you have them, please use them. When you are finished with your card, link your creation to LOTV Thursday blog. Have fun creating and we can't wait to view your creations.

Card details.......... image LOTV Boys-Computer fun, sentiment SU, c/s SU and PTI, DP Three Bugs In A Rug, Copic Markers, ribbon, Liquid Glass, paper clip from SU , Nesties lg. oval die, scalloped scissors, EK Success scallop punch and Dew Drops

Have a great day and thank you all so much for stopping by!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #1

Yes... you read the title correctly....The Pixie Cottage is pleased to announce our first sketch challenge...starting today!

This weeks challenge is to make a card based on the sketch that you see posted on my blog. The fun doesn't end here folks.... you can use any stamp that YOU desire, combine our challenges with other blog challenges and you have roughly 10 days to complete your card! How cool is that?! For more inspiration and challenge info. click on this link here.

One thing for sure, I really enjoyed making this card for our first challenge. I wanted to make a fun type card with bold Halloween colors. The name of my image is Little Sweet Pea and I think she is adorable! The card stocks used are SU, Papertrey Ink and Bazzill. The design paper is from my scrapbox stash. I used my largest Nestie circle die for the background circle and each square measures 1 1/4 inch. Little Sweet Pea is colored in with Copic Markers and I embellished her buttons with a bit of Stickles. The sentiment "Boo To You"is from the Pixie Cottage as well. I cut out each word and matted the words to the 1 1/4 inch squares. I also used Prima Flowers to embellish and each flowers center contains a black half pearl.

We can't wait to see your lovely cards and hope that you decide to play along! To see the Pixie Cottage DT samples click here! Feel free to add our logo to your side bar as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

hugs
