The Pixie Cottage #20...Guest Sketch or Tag Challenge

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

Well I guess I better come out of hiding and join the human race again. I've been one "sick sista" this past week but I guess I'm on the road to recovering and it is about time too! This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge is another fun one. You can either make a card according to the sketch designed by the talented Bev Rochester or you can make a card that features a tag or pocket.

Because my hands are swollen, I kept it simple and used this new image by our very own talented artist ArTish (May I Have This Dance). What I like about this image is that it is easy to color and beautiful as well.

Pixie Cottage #19...Paper Tole or sketch

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge is an interesting one for sure. You have a choice of making a card according to the sketch designed by our very own DT member Pam, or you can Paper Tole your images. I'm sure that some of you are asking yourself "what does Paper Tole mean"? Paper Tole is a fancy word to 3D your image(s), you can either 3D the entire image or parts that you want to stand out.

For this weeks challenge, I only gave dimension to the flower bouquet that my image is holding. This is a new stamp by The Pixie Cottage's new artist Di Carubia and the name is of stamp is Bunny With Roses. I stamped the bouquet portion three times and colored and cut out portions that I wanted for dimension. After that, I simply layered with tiny pop dots and added Stickles for more dimension.

Well I have to get ready for my doctors appointment. Lately I haven't been feeling all that great and my body needs some help! I think that I'm pre-menopausal or something but I know that I feel crappy and I just wish that this feeling would go away!!! At any rate, have a great day everyone and enjoy the sunshine. May All Of Your Wishes Come True!

Hello Everyone,

I can't believe how fast the time has flown by today! I've been crafting away in the basement all day and when I happened to glance at the clock it was after 2 pm! Whew!!!

I made this card to accommodate a few blog challenges that I am quite fond of. The challenges range from color combination's ( pink, orange, green and yellow) to sparkle, ribbon and dimension. My image is the adorable Wild Flower Patch Kids (Flower Fairy Daisy). Fairy Daisy is colored in with Copic Markers and her wings are embellished with extra fine glitter. After I finished coloring her, I trimmed away my image and propped her with pop dots onto the Nestie's oval die. Since Fairy Daisy is a "fairy" I think that I can get away with her sitting in the air! *lol* The flowery patterned design paper is by Imaginisce (Lucy Bird) and it also captures the colors pink, green, orange and yellow. The sentiment is from Whiff Of Joy and other embellisments are a button, ribbon and half pearls. Tools used were my Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots embossing folder and my Nesties dies.

Card Challenges...
Wild Flower Patch Kids....Ribbon,Sparkle and Dimension
Cute Card Thursday......Special Friend (best of wishes)
Pixie Dust Studio....Cut it Out!
Hope Stamps Eternal....Color Combo Pink,Orange,White and Green
Sweet Stampin Challenge....Color Challenge...Yellow,Green, Orange and Pink

Have a beautiful and safe weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Pixie Cottage #18 Sketch or Vintage/Distressing Challenge

Hello Everyone,
I think that I can safely say that all is almost 100 % normal around here again. My MIL should be released from the rehab facility Friday and my BF is feeling a lot better as well. When I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming a nurse but changed my mind when I was in high school because I didn't like chemistry. However, when I think about it, I would have made a great nurse....at least that is what everyone tells me☺ At any rate, I have missed my crafting room the past couple of weeks and I'm more than anxious to just sit back ...relax and create!

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge is to make a vintage/distressed style card or you can make a card designed by our guest, the talented Suzanne Dean!

My card is based off of the vintage/distressing theme and I have to admit that this challenge was a tough one for me. I am such a fan of vintage and distressed cards but I can't seem to make it work for me. At any rate, I had fun with the challenge and look forward to seeing what you all do with the challenge!

One randomly picked winner will get their choice of 2 Pixie Cottage Stamps and the Design Teams Top Three entries will get to display the winners badge on their blog.
Winners will be announced on the Friday following the end of the challenge. For more Pixie Cottage DT inspiration and the rules of the challenge, please click here.

Hello And Happy Saturday!

2 different patterned papers/designer papers
3 embellishments

For more KLSNS DT inspiration, please click here.

My image is by Dustin Pike (Alien Intrigue) and I had the hardest time with this little guys eyes! Should his eyes be open or closed...either way, I think it's up to the designer and I left his eyes open. My design paper is double sided paper by TPI and I simply used the opposite side as my second design paper. Since this is a card for a male, I added just a piece of ribbon and some buttons as my embellishments. The sentiment is from a digi download package of Alice in Wonderland Sentiments.

card details.....
stamp H.H. Alien Intrigue, sentiment is a digi download, c/s Bazzill and PTI, design paper TPI, inks Copic Markers and Memento Tuxedo Black. Embellishments ribbon and buttons...tools used Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder and a stapler.

Have a wonderful day and beautiful Mother's Day! Smiley from millan.net My MIL has been moved to a different hospital facility for rehabilitation and she hates it! I feel so sorry for her but she's having problems walking and she needs to regain her strength. Thanks for all of your comments and thanks so much for stopping by!

Pixie Cottage #17 Sketch or Make Your Own Charm Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,
Once again I have to apologize for my disappearing act but lately I have been dealing with some major "Life Events". My MIL had a heart attack early last week and we have been back and forth to the hospital on a daily basis. My husband visits his mom everyday, and when he stopped by to see her, he found her on the floor and called an ambulance right away. She is 91 yrs. old but she is a fighter and although she is going to need a lot of family support, hopefully she will be released from the hospital soon. On top of that, my best friends husband died of a heart attack in his sleep last week and that was a total shocker! He was so young! As I sit here typing, I'm still in shock but I know that God has his reasons and I try not to question him.

In the event you aren't familiar with The Pixie Cottage Challenges, we are trying something new this round. You have a choice, you can either make a card according to the sketch or make a card that supports the theme. This weeks theme is to make your own charm. If you aren't crazy about the theme, you can choose to design your card on this sketch by our guest designer Rowena from Crafty Pagan Designs.

My image is designed by the super talented ArTish and the name of the stamp is Waking Up To Spring. My image is colored in with Copic Markers and I airbrushed the background skies. To created the clouds, I held a scalloped shaped oval die cut in one hand and while airbrushing, I would randomly move the die cut around. I did attempt to make a charm but I think it is rather pitiful looking. I had an idea to add beads to some jump rings but the effect wasn't nothin' like I imagined in my head! *lol*

I also want to thank everyone for stopping by and for your kind comments. Today I am taking a breather from everything and I'm going to spend some time visiting blogs etc. Take care and I hope that your day is a beautiful one!
