No Internet Service!

Happy Thanksgiving and a blessed day to everyone.

Hello everyone, I have been without Internet service every since Tuesday evening:( For some reason or other, my Internet router box went on the blink and nothing is working! I called Charter Cable first thing Wednesday morning and a serviceman will be out to check out the malfunctioning router box Monday.

So.... we are over to my cousins house for the holiday and thankfully she let me use their family computer to communicate. Bless them, I so thankful for my entire family!

Have a beautiful day and enjoy all of your blessings!

Sweets For the Sweet!

Hello Everyone,
This weeks Pixie Cottage Saturday Showcase is designers choice! I based my project around this adorable image named Cuddly Cute . My immediate thoughts were to make something sweet for the "girly type girl". I settled on a card and treat box combo.

My treat box includes a hot chocolate packet and a small bag of mints. I found the directions for the treat box here.

Cuddly Cute is colored in with Copic Markers and I added a little sparkle to ears of the mice.

The card stocks are Bazzill and Papertrey Ink. The design papers are from DCWV Sweet Stack. The flowers are by Prima and I also embellished with half pearls and ribbon.

For more showcase inspiration, be sure to stop by The Pixie Cottage DT blogs, you won't be disappointed!
Here's hoping that you have a beautiful weekend and thank you all so very much for stopping by!

WOJ Challenge #55

This weeks WOJ Challenge is to make a card using the colors orange, brown and ivory. I have to say that I like warm colors but sometimes trying to combine them is a bit tricky. I wasn't happy with my original color combo and decided to paper piece Shy Willow's dress instead.

Willow's dress is paper pieced with various sheets of design paper from Papertrey Ink's Autumn Abundance collection. Once again, I omitted a sentiment and will add something later. Willow is colored in with Copic Markers and I also gave a bit of depth to her paper pieced dress by shading in certain area. I embellished my card with Prima's Say it In Crystals and felt flowers.

The past few days have come and gone in a blur. It seems as if yesterday was Friday!!! Well needless to say, I'm behind on my blogging duties again and Smiley from millan.net I definitely will be making the rounds and catching up. I can't wait to see your beautiful cards! Any New Moon Smiley from millan.net fans out there? The clock is ticking and Friday will be here before we know it. At any rate, my gang and myself will be in line to see the much anticipated New Moon. Smiley from millan.net

Have a beautiful day and thank you all so much for stopping by!

Holy Cow!

Hello Everyone,

My eye lid surgery was a success, the bump on my eye lid is gone and I feel so much better now. Although my vision was a little blurry at first, all is clear now and I am very thankful for that!

I completed this card for the Copic Buzz's sketch challenge this morning. The name of my image is Udderly Adorable and I think she is quite sweet.

Card Details.......
The base card stock is from Papertrey Ink and the design paper from DCWV (Die Cuts With A View, Nanna's Kitchen), my image is designed by Alisa Ramirez and called Udderly Adorable. The sentiment is from The Angel Company. I used Copic Markers to color in my image and embellished my card with flowers, half pearls, paper piercing around the main mat and Martha Stewart's Daisy Fan Punch. I loved this punch the moment I saw it but had no idea how huge the scallops actually are. My card is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 and only two scallops would fit my card.

Well....I'm off to get a few things done around the house. Have a beautiful weekend and thank you all so much for your kind comments and for stopping by!

Awesome News!

Hello Everyone,

I received some great news that I would like to share with you. I have been selected for another design team. Starting in January, I will join the KL Stampin N Scrappin design team! I feel quite honored to work with a group of super talented ladies and look forward to starting my term!

More news....this morning I'm scheduled to have out patient surgery on my eye lid to remove a Chalazion. (a bothersome bump on my eyelid) From what my doctor tells me and what I have read on the Internet, the removal of a Chalazion is no big deal. The surgery takes about 15 minutes and that's it! Smiley from millan.net

So in the meantime, try to have a great day and I want to thank you all so very much for stopping by!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #3!

*note...So sorry for any confusion today...I have two DT events going on at one time. The LOTV Blog Hop is underneath this post.*

Whooo Hoooo...what a busy day I am having today!.... two post in one day for two separate DT!!! I'm not complaining though....just busy!!! Well .... time for more excitement.....time for another Pixie Cottage Challenge! This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge.

As with all of our challenges, you are free to use any stamp that you desire! But, if you have any Pixie Cottage Stamps, feel free to use them. You have a week and a half to finish your card . For more specific details, please click here. We also want to thank all that participated in our challenges! The number of participants has been amazing and so much talent out there!!!

I chose another South End Girl for my challenge card and kept it rather simple. It is not unusual for me to omit a sentiment on my cards once I am finished with them. For some reason, my mind draws a blank and I can't decide what I want for a sentiment.
The design papers are Graphic 45 and the embellishments are ribbon, half pearls, flowers and Art Institute Art Glitter Gala Glitz (silver pieces of cut glass and glitter fragments). My image is colored in with Copic Markers and her wings are embellished with extra fine glitter.

For more inspiration, be sure to check out The Pixie Cottage DT blogs! I also want to mention that Michelle (The owner of The Pixie Cottage) has the lowest prices around on Copic Markers and she has a large assortment of other goodies as well!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Magnolia's Distress Challenge!

Today I have another card that I would like to share with you. I made this card for Just Magnolia's "distress" challenge. For some reason, I very seldom apply any type of distressing to my cards but now , I'm not so nervous about it and I kind of like the technique. I distressed my design paper and my images base mat with my scissors. I even sponged Pink Pirouette on most of my card stocks and design paper. *which is a pretty brave move for me! *lol*

Alva is colored in with Copic Markers and I used the " out of frame method" with my square nesties die. As you can see, I cut in a little bit too deeply into Alva's left leg and leaf area leaving a small gash in that area. *ouch!*

Other embellishments and tools include my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, MS wave punch, ribbon, charm, half pearls, flowers, Stickles and Prima's Say It With Pearls flower embellishment. c/s Bazzill and Papertrey Ink, dp K&Company Swell Noel Bells

I hope you all join me tomorrow (Wednesday) for a day of fun and awesome challenges! The Pixie Cottage has a fantastic upcoming challenge and Lili Of The Valley will feature its first ever blog hop....all on the same day!!! I hope to see you all Wednesday morning for a day packed with fun, fun, fun!

WOJ Challenge #54

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope that you all had a wonderful and productive weekend and that your morning is off to a great start!

Today I would like to share with you all this card that I made for WOJ. This weeks challenge is to make a card base off of the lovely sketch designed by Jane, a WOJ DT member.

Once again I have chosen to use Henry for my image, I think he is adorable! Henry and the cookie are colored in with Copic Markers. I embellished the cookie by dabbing tiny dots of red, green and yellow Stickles in random areas. I also applied Liquid Pearls and Liquid Glass to give the cookie frosting a glazed look. *The reason the frosting looks lumpy is because the Liquid Glass was still wet when I took the picture*

The card stocks are from SU and Papertrey Ink and the design paper by Imaginisce. Other embellishments and tools are ribbon, felt flowers, buttons, half pearls and round corner punch for the tag.

As I bring this post to a close, I hoping that you all have a beautiful day and thank you so much for stopping by!

hugs

Pixie Cottage ....Holiday Theme

Hello Everyone,

Today I would like to share with you a soon to be released image that you can purchase from The Pixie Cottage very soon. My card features the adorable Rudolph sharing his "way too long" Christmas list with Santa. How many of you can relate to Rudolph and his super long Christmas list? When my kids were younger, they would prepare a list similar to Rudolph's. I wonder did they seriously think that Santa was going to deliver everything on their list?

Getting back to The Pixie Cottage's holiday stamps, there are more! Michelle has cute holiday bear images, penguins, and more that can be pre-ordered here . Be sure to stop by each of The Pixie Cottage DT blogs to see more holiday inspiration.
Card Details........
image The Pixie Cottage, sentiment computer generated, c/s Papertrey Ink and Bazzill, dp DCWV and piece from my scrap bin, inks Copic Markers, ribbon, Diamond Stickles, MS punch, half pearls, Liquid Glass (Rudolph's nose) and stocking charm

Don't forget about The Pixie Cottage Blog Candy and you still have time to enter the "Celebrate" Challenge.

LOTV Thursday Challenge!

Hello Everyone and Happy Thursday!

This weeks LOTV Challenge is to create a card based off the following recipe of 3 papers, 2 stamps (the second stamp can be a sentiment) and one embellishment. If you are one that likes to embellish your cards, this is truly a challenge!

My main design paper is by DCWV and the two smaller pieces are from my scrap bin. Both my image and sentiment are from Lili Of The Valley. I machine stitched around all of my mats and added ribbon to the medium mat. *ribbon does not count as an embellishment and is OK to use* My image is colored in with Copic Markers and embellished with crystal gems by Prima.

As with all LOTV Challenges, you have two weeks to complete your card. You don't have to use LOTV Stamps but if you have them, why not use them. When you are finished with your card, link your creation to LOTV Thursday's Blog. Have fun creating and we can't wait to view your creations.

Have a great day and thank you all so much for stopping by!
