Sunflower Angel

Hello Everyone, Smiley from millan.net

The sun is shining brightly today and I feel energetic! I've cleaned my house, Smiley from millan.net dinner is done and I feel as though I could take on the world! *lol* Now if only I felt this way everyday, I would be into something:)

I finished coloring another Ching- Chou Kuiks Fantasy Image (Sunflower Angel) last night and I love this image! While coloring her, I visioned a doll that was unhappy because she wasn't human, therefore the sad face. I even dabbed a super tiny amount of Liquid Glass on her cheeks, trying to create the illusion of tears. After I stamped my sentiment, I realized that due to the size of the word arrangement, the sentiment wasn't going to work for my card. I thought about Anne Taintor and copied her sentiment style.

I could go on and on but I'm going to bring my post to a close. Today my step-kids (the twins) are celebrating their birthday Smiley from millan.net and I want everything to be ready when they arrive from school. I have a few errands to run and in my case, the clock hands swing into speed dial mode....3:00 PM will be here before I know it. I have to get moving! Smiley from millan.net

Thinking Spring!

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I'm kicking off the week with a card that I made for several challenges. Although it can be tricky combining challenges, it is very satisfying when you can pull it off. I based my card off of the second Midnight Madness sketch and incorporated other card challenge details with the need embellishments, my image and color combos.

I colored my Inky Impressions image ( LiLi's Prayer) with the main colors for the Copic Color Challenge. (Yellow, green and gray) I'm also submitting this card for Inky Impression "Think Spring" and Cute Card Thursday's "Ribbon-Tastic" Challenge. I think the spring colors speak for themselves and instead of my usual ribbon bows, I made a trio of ribbon flowers.

LiLi is colored in with Copic Markers and the sentiment is from The Greeting Farm. The card stocks are Bazzill and PTI, the design paper is by Doodle Bug. The inks are Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic Markers. I also lightly airbrushed the background to give more depth. Embellishments are ribbon, buttons and Stickles and tools used were paper pierce tool and SU's corner punch.

I also want to thank all that participated in the Claudia & Co. Puddle Jumpers Blog Hop over the weekend. To see if you won your very own Puddle Jumper, click here. Now that life is back to normal, I can catch up on my blogging duties. Have a beautiful day and thank you all so much for stopping by!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #10

Hello Everyone,

I can't believe how fast the time rolls by, today is Wednesday and time for another Pixie Cottage Challenge. This weeks challenge is to make a card base on the following sketch designed by our very own, Anne! Thanks for the sketch and inspiration Anne! Before I go any further, I would also like to thank all of the participants of our Love Challenge. We had over 100 entries and all of your cards were fabulous! Thanks for playing with us, without your participation, these bi-weekly challenges would not be possible.

I decided to give my Copic Markers a rest and simply paper pieced my image (Beary Much) together. I stamped my image several times on different pieces of card stock and once I decided which card stocks to use, I started to assemble the puzzle. I sponged all of the pieces with coordinating inks and proceeded to attach the limbs to my images base. I worked from the bottom up and continued this process until I was finished. I think the paper piecing gave my image so much more depth.

Remember, you have almost two weeks to complete your cards and all finished cards are be to linked directly to The Pixie Cottage's Blog. You aren't required to use The Pixie Cottage Stamps, but if you have them.....show us what you can do with them*ΓΌ* For more DT inspiration and the challenge rules, click here.

Oh....we have a new Pixie Cottage DT member and she also happens to be the artist who designed my cards image. Welcome aboard to The Pixie Cottage Tish (aka ArTish)!

Card Details....
image The Pixie Cottage ( Beary Much), sentiment from Impress Rubber Stamps, card stocks Bazzill and Papertrey Ink, design paper Graphic 45,Inks, inks Memento Tuxedo Black and SU's blue, brown and red, Nesties lg. oval and scallop dies. Embellishment and tools....paper pierce tools for oval scallops, ribbon and light green gems.

Take care and if the weather is terrible in your area, drive safely and be safe!

Good Morning Everyone,

The KLSNS DT decided to put together a small Birthday Blog Hop in honor of Joanna. Happy Birthday Joanna! Smiley from millan.net

I didn't have time to get a card ready but I still have a card to show and I'll call it a blast from the past. I made this card over a year ago and I want you to know that in my book "You Rock Joanna"! Take care and enjoy your day. Here is the blog hop order, if you missed any of the DT names, be sure to drop in and say hello and stop by and wish Joanna a Happy Birthday. Smiley from millan.net

I also want to thank everyone for their kind and well wishes. I was and still am worried about my oldest son and daughter-in-law, things are still a bit stressful but I think that time will heal all wounds. I know that I shouldn't worry but sometimes I get excited easily and no matter how old my son is , I'm still his mom and will always love him, no matter what. Take care and enjoy your day and I will definitely try to do the same.

KL Stampin N Scrappin ...Go Green Challenge!

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Saturday!

I hope your day is off to a great start and full of sunshine. This weeks KL Stampin N' Scrappin Challenge is hosted by our very own Kelly and is a great one....Go Green! Smiley from millan.net Yep, time to put on your thinking caps and get some usage out of the stuff that we put away for a rainy day and so on.

I got the idea for making my "Go Green" card here and after finishing my card, I will definitely be making more of these envelope cards for gifts. My friend, Barb W. sent me some homemade flowers that she made from the pages of old novels and these flowers are so awesome!

Basically, all I did was trim off the top flap of the envelope, folded it in half and then measured card stock and design paper for the base. Here is a picture of the inside of the folder.

There is enough room for small gifts, hot cocoa packets etc. The possibilities are endless!

Be sure to stop by the KL Stampin N' Scrappin Blog for more DT inspiration, the girls really ran wild with their creativity and produced some amazing "Go Green" cards! So put on your thinking caps and get creative! This weeks winner will receive a prize and as always, the top 3 challengers will receive a Top 3 blinkie! I hope you join in on the fun and I can't wait to see your creations! Smiley from millan.net

Card Details
Folder from junk mail envelope, image Stampavie Cuddling, DP from my stash, c/s PTI, inks Copic Markers and Memento Tuxedo Black, flower (a gift), Stickles old ribbon taken from a discarded project and half pearls.

More RAKs

Hello Everyone,
Today I would like to share with you a couple of RAKs that I received this past weekend. The first RAK is from Barbara W. (The Buzz). Barb sent me this beautiful Valentine easel card and two super cute containers filled with goodies. One of the containers was filled with candy and the second container was filled with beautiful homemade flowers.

While admiring my card, I noticed the beautiful shimmer on the card stock and asked Barb where did she buy the gorgeous paper. You know what...Barb made her own version of Shimmerz and the results are fantastci!!! WTG Barb!
It's hard to capture the beautiful shimmer but IRL, the shimmering card stock is awesome!
Smiley from millan.net

My next RAK is from my dear friend Jana (2Worlds). Jana sent me this beautiful Valentine card and a yummy matchbook style treat bag. Jana also made the beautiful flower out of dryer sheets and it is gorgeous!

Thank you ladies very much for your acts of kindness, I really appreciate it! Now I'm going to settle down and watch the Olympics Smiley from millan.neta while before retiring to bed. Have a beautiful day and thank you all so much for stopping by!

Hugs Smiley from millan.net
