Kenny K's...... Movie Star!

Hello Everyone,
While browsing around the Internet, I discovered these new (well...new to me) digi images by Kenny K and brought a couple right away. I had a hard time deciding what to buy but Movie Star is one of the images that I brought. The female images remind me of the Bratz Dolls in a way, what do you think?

My cards layout is based on the sketch that Bev (All Things I Love) designed for this weeks Lili of the Valley blog challenge. While deciding what to do with Movie Star, I thought that I would have fun with her. Her hair is two toned and her outfit is full of sparkles.

As usual, I can't decide on any particular sentiment whenever I finish with a card and left that area blank for the moment. After coloring Movie Star, I noticed that what I thought was a vest is actually a sweater! I have to laugh at my own self at times!!!

The awesome news that I wanted to share is that I am now on the All That Scraps DT! I am truly honored to be a member of All That Scraps, I LOVE those stamps!

Wlid Flower Patch #25... Color Challenge!

The Pixie Cottage is on vacation this week and will return next Wednesday.

Hello Again,

This weeks Wild Flower Patch Challenge is all about the colors BROWN, MANGO and CREAM. Don't you just love this combination of warm fall colors? I know that I do and with fall just around the corner, a challenge like this is kind of refreshing!

I colored my digi image (Poppy Butterfly Fairy) in with Copic Markers and added gold colored distress Stickles to her wings. I then trimmed away my image and mounted her onto a large circular shaped scallop. The design papers are from Basic Grey's Indian Summer paper pad and other embellishments are roses, half pearls and ribbon.

We hope that you are able to join in this weeks color challenge, as we look forward to viewing your cards! You aren't required to use WFP images but we would love it if you would. For more Wild Flower Patch DT inspiration and the official challenge rules, please click here.

Have a great day and enjoy the summer sunshine!!!

For Someone Special.......

Hello Everyone.

Yes.....I'm still here.....I simply took a mini break from my hobby and spent a little time with the family. The kids summer vacation is almost over and I needed to give my craft room a break and bond with the family.

While on my mini break, I received some bad news, great news and adorable stamps that I am just itching to color. The bad news is that Kelly (KL Stampin N' Scrappin) had to close down the doors. I enjoyed being a member of Kelly's team, we all got along great and Kelly is super special gal! I will share my great news later this week!

Well enough blabbering on my end, I would love to introduce you to Popcorn The Bear! Popcorn The Bear has finally arrived at 7 Kids College Fund and he is totally adorable in every way!
This particular set of stamps features one large image of Popcorn The Bear, two smaller accessory stamps and five sentiments. Because Popcorn The Bear is a bit large, I stamped my image on card stock and then scaled down the size on my copier machine.

Because I wanted the focal point to be on my image, I kept the layout simple. I embossed the base layer with my Spellbinders Impressabilities Butterfly Embossing Folder. My image was colored in with Copic Markers and mounted on the lg. square Nestabilies dies. I embellished the cover of my card with flowers, buttons and Stickles . I decorated the inside of my card with my sentiment and MS Daisy border punch.

I hope that everyone is enjoying what is left of the summer, August is right around the corner already!!!! Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Wild Flower Patch Wednesday #24....Lace & Sparkle!

Note: This is my second post for today, The Pixie Cottage is directly beneath this post

Hello Again!

I'm back with another Wednesday Challenge! This weeks Wild Flower Patch Challenge is to make a card that features Lace and Sparkle!

My summer/beach themed card features the Wild Flower Patch digi image, Sand Castle Violet. Violet is colored in with Copic Markers and I tried to created an illusion of water by airbrushing the background with two different shades of blue. I created button flowers by applying double sided tape to the back of the lace. I then proceeded to wrap the lace in a circular motion until I reached a flowery effect. The sparkle effects were created by adding gold and diamond color Stickles to the sand castle and half backed gems in the corners.

For more WFP DT inspiration and the official challenge rules, please click here. We hope that you have a blast creating a card that's loaded with sparkle and lace! Have fun with the challenge and we can't wait to see your creations!

The Pixie Cottage # 28...Double Play or Sketch

Hello Everyone,

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge is based on this lovely sketch designed by our guest designer, Jay Jay. As with all of our challenges, you can make a card based on this sketch or you can make a card based on this weeks theme...Double Play! If you choose this weeks Double Play theme, you are required to use TWO stamps, an image and sentiment will meet the two stamp requirements.

I used both the sketch and the Double Play theme for my card. The name of my image is April With Hearts (designed by Sandra Hammer) and she is colored in with Copic Markers. My design paper is from my scrap bin and I used my EK Success border punch for the trio of panels. On an impulse, I added ribbon to the scalloped and machine stitched the ribbon.
Other embellishments are half pearls, roses and Stickles.

Wild Flowers Patch Wednesday #23....Sketch

Hello Again,
I'm back to announce this weeks Wild Flower Patch Challenge which is to make a card based off of this fab sketch designed by Leigh Ann Baird!

My card features the lovely Bella, and I kept this card clean and simple. Bella is colored in with Copic Markers and the strip of design paper is from my scrap bin. Originally I was going to leave the left side bare but it looked really bare, so I added a flourish of gems to fill in that portion of my card. My sentiment is by SU and I simply attached a little ribbon to the circular tag.

KiKi's Cupcake Dreams......

Hello and Happy Monday!

Just dropping in for a super quick post today! I have sooooo many things going on at once here at the moment and the day is flying by.

I made this card based on a sketch from All That Scraps and other various challenge blogs whose theme were pastel colors.

KiKi is colored in with Copic Markers and the background was lightly airbrushed. The design paper (Little Yellow Bicycle) is a soft pastel pattern with shades of pink, green and white. Other accessories are buttons, Stickles, Liquid Pearls and ribbon. Because my mind usually goes blank in the sentiment department after I make a card, I decided to go without a sentiment at this time.

Lazy Summer Daze

Hello Everyone,
Here in Michigan we are definitely having a real summer this year. Almost every day since June it has been hot and humid! Staying in tune with the weather, I made a Criss Cross card that features Tilda with her bicycle and a bouquet of flowers.

I remember when I was a kid, my girlfriends and I would ride our bikes everywhere in the surrounding neighborhood area. We didn't have cell phones at that time and as kids had to stay in the neighborhood. My kids have bicycles but would rather stay
in the house and play with the Wii or PS3! I almost have to force them outside to get some fresh air and exercise. In my day, it was torture to have to stay indoors during the summer, what is wrong with kids today?! *lol*

So today's card is all about summer and summer related fun! Have a great day and enjoy the summer sunshine!

Card details......
stamp Magnolia (Tilda with Bike), c/s Bazzill and PTI, DP ..Karen Foster (Birds & Blooms), inks Copic Markers Embellishment....machine stitching,Swiss Dots embossing folder, Prima Roses , Stickles, half pearls and ribbon. Instructions for the Criss Cross card were found at SPS. I used the base instructions for my card but increased the size for my needs.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that all is OK now. Thanks so much!

The Pixie Cottage # ...Guest Sketch or Aperture

This is my second post today..... Wild Flower Patch #22...Grunge is below this post.

Hello Everyone,

Wow...I can't believe how quickly the days are speeding by but they are and The Pixie Cottage is back with another challenge! As with all of our challenges, you have a choice of either making a card according to the sketch or you can go by the theme. This weeks sketch was designed by the super talented Dawny P. and this weeks theme is to make an aperture window.

After I saw the DT cards, I realized that I failed the challenge miserably! I was supposed to make a window and place my image on the inside of my card, instead I made a shaker type window! I don't know what I was thinking about but here it is.....goof and all.

I made a simple easel card and used design papers that were bright, crisp and summery. My image, Whispering Maisy & Matt (designed by Di Caruba) are both colored in with Copic Markers and the background was lightly airbrushed. the rest of the details are listed below.

We hope that you all enjoy this weeks challenge and look forward to viewing your creations! For more Pixie Cottage DT inspiration, please click here.
