Mimosa Scarecrow and a RAK!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

Now that the weather is getting cooler, I was inspired to make a fall themed card. The past few days have been cold and wet...perfect stamping weather! The name of my image is Mimosa (Bildmalarnas) and I honestly feel that she is too cute to scare anyone!

Roses On Paper #22 and Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #15

I recently made this card and am lucky because this cards meets the requirements of both Roses On Paper's color challenge + an additional sketch challenge! The sketch that I used also meets the requirements for Kaboodles Challenge #15! So....two challenges on one card...too awesome!

ROP Challenge is to make a card using the colors orange, brown and green along with a sketch from another blog. The sketch matches this one from Kaboodle Doodles.

Mimosa is colored in with Copic Markers and matted onto the large nestie die. The design paper is from Papertrey Ink and the card stocks are by SU and Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from Magnolia's 08 Fall kit. To embellish my card, I used ribbon, gems and flowers.

RAK from Jana (2 Worlds)

Jana sent me this beautiful birthday RAK a few days ago and what a surprise! Thank you so much for the beautiful card and yummy Basic Grey DP!

Well, I guess I better get into motion and get a few things done around the household. Take care and try to have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Roses On Paper "Stitches" Challenge!

Hello Everyone,

I hope that you all have had a beautiful and relaxing weekend! Although my life seems to get busier by the minute, I always try to squeak in a little play time for myself:)

I made this card for Roses On Paper "stitches challenge"! I sewed on both of my card mats with my sewing machine and would have sewed around my image's mat, but was afraid that I would mess it up. *lol* I'm famous for messing up my cards as I come close to completing them....and this drives me nuts! *lol*

My image is from the Bells 'N Whistle summer collection and her name is Li' l Miss Poppy. Lil Miss Poppy is colored in with Copic Markers and her apron is embellished with tiny dabs of Liquid pearls and Stickles. I lightly airbrushed the blue sky color in the background.

The design paper is by DCWV and the card stocks are SU and Papertrey Ink. I embellished my card with MS lace punch, ribbon and orange gems. The sentiment is from The Greetings Farm.

Enjoy what is left of your day and thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate it!

hugs

80's Anya and mini-accordion file folder....

Hello Everyone!

While looking for some inspiration, I discovered the blog Amazing Grace and I was totally in awe of Becca's beautiful cards. While drooling over her creations, I stumbled across this mini accordion file folder and fell in love with it. Included in her post was a link for directions to make this accordion file folder and the credits go the the talented Maria Bell!

I followed the given instructions and was very happy with the results! I'm still a novice at making " things" and I have challenged myself to try to make something on a regular basis.

The name of my image is 80's Anya (limited edition)and she is a new stamp from The Greetings Farm. She is colored in with Copic Markers and matted with the large oval nesties die. I embellished the file folder with a simple flower, half pearls and ribbon.

Other materials used.........
thin cardboard, size #10 business envelopes, scallop punch, dbl. sided tape, Scor-Pal, SU's window punch, card stock (SU and Papertrey Ink), design paper from DCWV.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!

Anyone For Anya? Funky Flowers Challenge!

Hello Everyone,

I'm slowly getting back into the mode of making cards for various challenges throughout "blogland". I made this card for Anyone For Anya's Funky Flower Challenge.
Call me " Smiley from millan.net" but I think the "funky flowers" means either cute or wild! I chose to go with cute and I hope that my interpretation of funky is OK with this challenge. Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

I made the criss cross effect on my base mat by lining the pointed end of the square mat evenly on my Scor-Pal. Each score mark is in increments of one inch lines. After I completed the first series of score marks, I flipped my mat, lined it up as I did in the beginning (only this time I lined up the opposite pointed end of my mat) and finished scoring my base mat. I made a little "boo-boo" on the front left hand side of my mat which I didn't realize until I decided to embellish each intersection with a half pearl. To even out my mistake, I simply added an extra half pearl to the upper front of the right hand side of my card.

My image, Savannah (WS ) is mounted onto two different mats. The bottom mat was created by the Fleur De Lis Pendant die. I really love the intricate design of this die but I'm having problems getting the die to cut cleanly. I ran the Fleur De Lis Pendant die through my Wizard a few times and I still had to trim out the inner open designs with my small scissors. The second die I used was my large oval nestie dies and large oval scallop die.

If anyone has any tips for obtaining a clean cut with the Fleur De Lis Pendant Die, I would appreciate your feedback.

Card details
image TGF (Savannah) sentiment is blank at this time, c/s PTI and Bazzill, inks Copic Markers, To achieve grid lines, I used my Scor Pal. Other embellishments are 3mm half pearls, tiny drops of Stickles (along the lace of dress) and flowers.

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

hugs

Spilled Lemons

Hello Everyone,
I have been "eye balling " Mo Manning's digi images for quite some time and decided to take the plunge and buy a couple. What I like about Mo's digital Pencil Shop is that she has something for everyone! No matter what your ethinticity is, she has an image for you! I brought a couple of her Afro-American images and needless to say, I will be back for more!

This gift set is going to a childhood friend of mine who celebrated her birthday this past Friday. We have been friends since the third grade and I wanted to create something special for her. When my eyes locked onto this image, I knew that I had to have it! In fact, this image (Spilled Lemons) chose me! The facial expression on this little girls face is just like the facial expression my girlfriend! Just look at those button eyes.....I love it!

I also made a small purse out of the left over design paper that was used on the card. I tried to give an illusion of the sky and grassy grounds with my Copic Airbrush System. I was a little tired after coloring my image and decided to take a shortcut by airbrushing the background colors.

Card Details........
digi image Spilled Lemons by Mo Manning, sentiment SU, cardstocks Bazzill and Papertrey Ink, design paper Imaginsce, inks Copic Markers and Copic Airbrush System. To embellish my card I used ribbon, Friskars Water Threading Punch, sm. edged scallop scissors, Liquid Pearls, half pearls, flower and liquid glass (on the lemons).

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
