Pretty in pink
My step-daughter is "crazy" for the color pink. Primarily everything is pink...clothes, underwear, socks, notebooks etc. So I had her in mind when I made this card. While pairing up various colors of pink, I didn't realize how difficult it is to make a card using just one color! I was rather pleased with the results but felt that something was missing. I was so tempted to run out to Michael's and purchase a heating gun and some embossing powder but I resisted the urge. The next time I make another card like this I will emboss the stamped image to make it stand out more. The card stock is Bazzill, printed paper by Making Memories, stamp by The Cats Pajamas, ink SU's Pretty in Pink, ribbon from Michael's,and the beads are from Walmart's. Instead of embossing, I used my Sakura Ink Pen and traced around the cat image and applied Martha Stewarts Crystal Fine glitter to dust the outer edges. I also wrote in "Princess and Pretty in Pink and applied glitter as well.

Fun Friday Challenge
I also tried Laura's fun Friday challenge. You have to have three stamped images for this card. The c/s is textured and I got it out of a kit from Club Scrap. The jumbo brads are by Karen Foster, the stamped flowers SU,the sentiment SU and I used stickles. I have been working hard trying to perfect using my Prima pencils. I tried that here. I'm not completely satisfied but I am "OK" with it. Gotta keep practicing!
All checked out!
I am submitting this card to the Daring Cardmakers "all checked out" challenge. The c/s is Whisper White, checkered paper Making Memories, flower cutouts SU, sentiment SU,ribbon from Michael's. black c/s Bazzil, blk pop dots and used Mega scallop punch and the jumbo circle punch for flower. I also used adhesive ribbon to make the stem.
Ribbons, ribbons, ribbons :)
Two completed challenges!
I have two challenges to submit today and I reached my personal goal of three cards a week as well. Red white and blue is for DivineMissM Reach for the stars.

Starting this week, I am going to challenge myself to complete at least 3 card challenges per week. Today I made a matchbox card. I got the idea from Jen of Pieces of me The card is 4 1/4 X 9 1/4 and the flap I think is 1 1/4. The c/s is Bazzill and the paper is Junkitz. The stamp and sentiment are from The Cats Pajamas. The ribbon SU Certain Celery and May Arts pink. I colored in the cats eyes and her collar the color green with my marker and applied stickles to them both. This is my first matchbox card and I like it! I'm sure that I will make more in the future.

Pins and Needles.....
I visit various sites daily checking out the various card challenges. Maria Bell has a different challenges all the time. I have even done a few but I am not 100% pleased with my cards yet. I buy different stamps weekly and I am still "try to find me". To "cut to the chase" I completed one of Maria's challenges. I experienced "pins and needles" while making this card...talking to myself...self doubts...etc. But I did it.
I used some wedding paper that reminded me of the Baroque Basics stamp. The paper is by K&Co.,the "Hello" stamp by Studio G,the ribbon SU certain celery, cardstock Bazzill and I used pop dots for the "hello".

Here's my "candy"
I received my "blog candy" from Jan the other day and all I could say was"wow"! Thank you for sharing Jan. My birthday is coming soon and I am planning to share some wonderful goodies....stay tuned:)
Contemporary layout
I made a contemporary layout today. At first I wasn't wildabout this style of scrapbook layouts. But now I'm leaning more in that direction. Anything goes! This layout is "loud" and flowery and captures both of my step-daughters personalities. They both like purple, flowers, ribbon and bling. They both fit the picture of "girly girls".
The cardstock is by Bazzill, the chipbooard by Lil Davis, the flowery paper by DCWV, ribbon by May Arts, the buttons, bling and heaven sent sentiment are all unknown. I cut the swirl design and flowers out of DCVW's paper and used pop dots to adhere the flowers. I used the buttons and bling to adorn the flowers and used my Signo pen to doodle "to me" around the edges.

Scrapbook Layouts
I decided to make a couple scrapbook pages. The first layout is My son,step-son and grand son. Only kids look cute without teeth and I just wanted to capture their toothless grins. I wanted to make a contemporary page for my son. I titled it Believe. My message is for him to believe in himself, smile and be a kid. I used Bazzill c/s for both layouts, the stickers are from various companies, Chatter Box, Creating Keepsakes, Making Memories and Color Book.
Product review for UHU
I received a free sample from Maria Filosa's UHU project blog. The sample that I received was a tube of craft glue for foam rubber and flexible materials. I brought some foam products from Michaels and made something for my sons doorknob. I was quite pleased with the results. Although I would not recommend that small children use this product though. The adhesive is very sticky and has a faint adhesive smell. I'm sure that I won't have to worry about any of my embellishments falling off of my project.
I won some Candy..Yeah!!!!
Every since Friday (which was my anniversary!) life has been a blur....where did the weekend go? We went out to dinner, had some company, and "bam" the weekend is gone.
I did manage to start on a lay-out which I will post Monday afternoon. After all the dust "settled down" I logged onto the computer and went to Allison's Blog, and signed up to win some of the various "candy give-aways". I went to the Gone Stampin site and signed for a chance to win some of the delicious candy she was giving away...and guess what??? I won!!! Thank you so much for the opportunity Jan! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend with their family and loved ones.

We are going to get together next week and start on some fun projects, and I can't wait! So until tomorrow:)

3. My husband and I were married on Friday the 13th ... we will celebrate 11 yrs. together this Friday!
4. I still love dolls, when a particular doll cathces my "eye" I will buy it. Right now I am "into" the Bratz Dolls.
5. I really like scary movies...not the gore but scary:)
6. I love Christmas, when I was a kid we didn't get too much and I (we) really go WAY over board. I love the way the kids eyes "light-up" when they open their presents.

Boys wil be boys!
I don't know why some guys are "turned on" by the sound of an engine racing or the loud sounds a motorcycle makes. All of this stuff bores me to pieces! My hubby brought our 9 yr.old a mini-bike because "Ethan likes stuff like that." Of course I feel that he is too young, but my objections went in one ear and out of the other. My hubby did discuss the rules and regulations for that thing. He can only ride it with adult supervision and no bike tricks! I hope my ds had a good time because when my hubby goes back to work tomorrow (hehehe) my son will have to resort to the old fashioned mode of transportation...his bicycle!

Page Map Inspired Cards
I made these two cards today and I got the inspiration from Page Maps. There weren't any instructions, so I set-up my own guide lines. The card stock is Papertrey, the patterned paper is from Studio Basics 101, I cut out the pumpkins and matted them. I used glue for the outer pumpkins and used a Velcro sticker for the center pumpkin. The ribbon is from Michaels. Inside the card is an invitation. The invitation is punched with the Marvy Scallop Punch and the stamp is from SU's Tags and More set. I really wish that I had a stamp that said "Happy Halloween!" or something. My next stamp purchase will have some holiday sentiments. The Be Creative etc. card does not have any stamping. The paper is from Junkitz, c/s from Making Memories, ribbon from Michaels and dimensionals from SU. I simply cut out the flowers and the sentiments and adhered them with the dimensionals. The inside of the card has a picture of me surrounded by flowers stating "Be You".

Finally got my pics. to download
Here Cody is playing with the neighbors dog, Rocky:) The pink and white card was inspired by Page Maps June edition. The papers are from K+Co. The buttons by Doodlebug, ribbon from Michaels and the tag Baby Girl unknown. I cut the scallops out with scissors. The masculine card papers are all from a previous kit, Club Scrap. The twine and the brads were included in this kit as well. The sentiment is by Studio G and stamped with SU's ink. I colored in the tiny hearts red and added a little bit of sparkles. I really liked the way the Page Map card turned out, however I should not have added the beads to the buttons. Tonight I am going to make another one.
Murphy's Law......
Any thing that could have gone wrong yesterday did........I wish that I could "go back in time" to prevent yesterdays misfortunes. It all started when we received a call from my mother-in-law (who was baby-sitting our dog Cody) Cody escaped from her back yard and was no where to be seen! Here we are on the highway, about one hour from home ,and we could do nothing! Everyone in the car is super upset and teary eyed thinking about Cody. Cody is a full-breed German Shepard who is terribly spoiled. He is a big dog but he is a BIG baby! As soon as we got home, my husband unpacks our overnight bags to hopefully make room for Cody. When he pops the trunk...my lap-top spills out of the bag and onto the garage floor! All I could do is watch in horror! How could this have happened? I am terribly up-set as we leave the house In our search for our dog. We get there and we walk around the neighborhood calling Cody, asking nearby neighbors if they had seen him....nothing. We spent two hours looking for our "pooch" and nothing. Everyone has a sad face, each one of us suffering wondering about Cody's fate. We get home and it's confirmed, my laptop isn't working properly....I am "sick"!
I had soooo much on my mind. I went to my scrap area and made to cards. I needed the therapy. Everyone is lost into their own thoughts, trying not to hurt.
This morning my husband called the dog pound, they could not answer any of his questions about Cody. They told him that he would have to come down there. My husband went and guess who was there.....Cody! After they called and made sure that Cody's shots were up to date, my hubby had to still pay $72.00 for Cody's stay there.
All of us were happy that Cody is back home. After that we took my lap-top to the shop.....that will cost $150.00 to repair it! I'm "telling-you" it seems that as soon as you think that you have an extra dollar or two, something happens to take care of that! On top of all of this, upon sitting down to my desk-top (which is now the kids, and they are rushing me off of it by the way) I open a bottle of pop and psssssssst....the pop gushes out of the bottle everywhere. I think that I'm gonna go to bed and hope for a better day tomorrow:)

Have a Wonderful 4th of July!
I will not be posting anything until after the holiday. My husband and I are going out of town early in the morning and will not be back until Thursday evening. I just want to take a minute to say have a wonderful and safe 4th of July! I did make two cards this afternoon and I was pleased with the results. Although my brads are slightly crooked...I'm still happy:) I know that one day I will look back and cringe at my cards but I have to keep going until I find my niche. All papers are from SU except the baby print. The sentiments are acrylic stamps from Studio G and the flower bouquet is from Hero Arts. I colored the flower image with my prisma pencils and tried to blend the colors, but I still am not sure of myself. The sentiment "boy" is sprinkled with very fine glitter and the petals and leaves are dabbed with the same very fine glitter.

A week and NO kids....?
It all sounded good to me...relatives would take my ds and dsd back with home with them. The kids are supposed to be in Grand Rapids until Sunday. I was lost in my thoughts, enjoying the quiet bliss when hubby interrupts my thoughts....."lets surprise them and go down to Grand Rapids on the 4th of July." "Huh" I said..."surprise them?" My husband is a big "softee" he misses them and they have only been gone 4hrs...geez!
Ok,so I'm guilty too...I miss my son and my step-daughter too! but I WAS looking forward to a week of "peace and quiet":)
I did make a card today...I got the inspiration out of SU's spring catalog. The c/s is SU's. The printed paper is from Provo Craft, flower traced and cut from a chipboard dye-cut, brads Making Memories, ribbon is from Michaels and acrylic stamp is from Studio G and I used sticlkles to embellish the edges of the flower.

Another busy day!
I did have time to make two cards. The first card is ok with me but not great. The second card is a 4th of July invitation. I thought it was kind of cute. I don't have any stamps for the 4th of July theme so I use stickers. I can't believe how cool it has become tonight...58 degrees! Don't get me wrong,I am not complaining...it's good sleeping weather and I like to cuddle:)
