Lili of the Valley Challenge #20

Hello everyone!
I'm sorry that I have been MIA the past few days. We received some bad news the other day which turned my whole day sour. My husband is retired from Delphi (Delphi is a "spin off" from GM) and it seems that most salaried retirees will lose their health benefits in April. This whole sorry mess turns my stomach inside out and I didn't even think about stamping for a day or so!!!! I'm crossing my fingers and praying that Blue Cross/Blue Shield will let me add my husband on to my insurance plan. *sigh*

Well ....to keep my mind off my troubles today, I made a card for Lili of the Valley's Thursday Challenge. The sketch was designed by the talented Donalda (Enjoying the Journey). This is my take on the challenge and thanks for the inspiration Donalda!

My image is my new Anya from The Greetings Farm. I was surprised to find that these stamps are much larger than what I expected and they stamp very nicely! The sentiment is a $1.00 stamp that I purchased from Michael's during my early days of stamping. The card stocks are from SU and Papertrey Ink. The designer papers are from SU and Pebbles. Inc and I colored my image with Copic Markers. To embellish my card, I used Nestabilites rectangle dies, Maya Road felt flowers, buttons and Scrapper floss. I also used ribbon and tiny chocolate pearls.

Hope you have an enjoyable Sunday afternoon and thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs

Risa

Hope your insurance plan will add your husband. It's hard to go without not having insurance. I'll pray for you. That's a great Anya image. I haven't had the chance to order those stamps yet. It's on list to buy. Great job love the colors you use.

I'm sorry to hear of your husband's health benefits. . .gosh, that's terrible. The one thing we need when we retire is our health benefits. That's terrible.I can understand why you're upset.

Your Anya is adorable. You did a fantastic job coloring her. She is a big girl, isn't she! She's fun to color. Your card reminds me that I should create a card using her. . .I buy stuff all the time and forget to use them!!

Love that layout too! You did a wonderful job creating a card with it!!

Hope you have a fabulous Sunday!!

A-mazing!!! Love this card, Risa!

And I love that 1.00 sentiment stamp ... okay, I'll give you 2.00 for it, okay!?!? LOLOL!

So sorry to hear about the DH's insurance woes ... my neighbors, originally from Michigan, are having the exact same problem ... they are devastated and sick with worry and fear.

Such a terrible, terrible thing that wonderful, hard-working people who put their faith and trust in a system have been failed by it. For what? So some billionaire CEO can give himself a 500,000.00 holiday bonus?!? Insanity. I'll be praying hard for you, my friend.

Please try not to worry though, things have a way of working out. But I totally understand your fears ... I'd be stomping mad, too.

~Big hug!
