ISS Beach Themed Blog Hop!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I know that I have been "MIA" the past few days and I apologize for a lack of post this week. Sometimes "life" gets into the way and nothing happens the way I intended. On a happier note, all is well and I'm back into crafting gear again!


Today is ISS third Blog Hop and the theme is beach and summer fun! The Anime Team had to make a project using this adorable mermaid image (Ariel) and the Retro Team has more beach related images. It all adds up to summer fun so take a few minutes to enjoy what the rest of the ISS DT has put together for our blog hop!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!
Wow...I feel as though I have been away for a super long time. I was scanning my fav. blogs in Google Reader and boy oh boy do I have a lot to catch up on!!!! You ladies certainly have been busy creating up a storm...wow! I so hate to get behind on my blogging duties...but where there is a will...there is a way:)




I had so much fun creating a card with Lelia last week, that I had to make another. Leila is a member of InStyle Stamps Anime digital download section. Although I will always love my stamps, I like the option of digital downloads...nothing like instant gratification!

Well...I'm going to keep this post short today. I have SO much to do and time is not on my side...the minutes are ticking away as I type! *lol*

WOJ Challenge #31

Hello Everyone!

While getting the house ready for the holiday weekend, I did manage to squeeze in some "me time" and make a card. Actually I was rather lucky because my husband and the boys did most of the outside work. Tomorrow, I won't be so lucky because I have a lot of cooking to do! Also, due to the fact that my moms birthday is Sunday, we will celebrate Memorial Day and my moms birthday together on Sunday. So... on that note, I doubt if I will be able to squeeze in any "me time" until after the weekend. However, every chance I get, I will be around to view your beautiful creations.




My WOJ challenge #31 card was inspired by Heather's lovely sketch...thanks for the inspiration!



My image, Melinda is colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment is part of a rub-on package from SU. The design papers are from A Muse Art Stamps and my scrap box. The card stocks are Bazzill and Papertry Ink. To embellish my card I used Nesties, MS lace punch, flowers, ribbon and pearls.

Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge #28..Sketch Challenge!

Hello Everyone!

I'm running a bit late with today's LOTV sketch challenge. My step-daughter came home sick from school yesterday and took a turn for the worse. She broke out in hives and was running a high temp. Luckily, we were able to get her into the doctor's office first thing this morning. She's on some antibiotics and some medication and resting comfortably right now...thank goodness! I was afraid that she had caught that flu virus that's going around, but the doctor said that she's having a bad case of allergies, I sure hope he's right!




This weeks sketch was inspired by Jo Austin! What a fab sketch! Remember, you have two weeks to make a card for the challenge...and that's plenty of time to think of something creative. InStyle Stamps Wednesday Challenge #3...Birthday Card!

Hello Everyone!
Today is Wednesday and this weeks InStyle Stamps Challenge is to make a card with a birthday theme!

I kept my card rather simple because I wanted the spotlight to shine on Mellie holding the birthday cake. The cupcake ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the card stocks are from Bazzill and Neenah Solar White #80. My image is colored in with Copic Markers. I also used my Nestie rectangle dies and my paper piercing tool to embellish the scallops. The sentiment is from SU and it is embellished with a pink gem in the flowers center.

WOJ Card plus a couple of RAKS!

Are there any Survivor fans out there? If so, are you ready for the BIG show tonight? I know I am!! On Sunday's I usually watch the Tudors, I really love the mini-series but I can catch up with it later tonight. I really hate it when I have to choose between favorite shows!

Due to the fact that CBCC will not have any more challenges until June, I had a little extra time to spare and made a card for WOJ's weekly challenge. The theme this week is to make a card using the sentiment "friend"!



When I started on this card, I had planned to make a shaker style card. Everything was going as planned until I realized that I didn't have enough of the thick dbl. sided tape! Dang......what a bummer. Instead of abandoning my project, I came up with a shaker "wanna be" card! *lol*

She even sent me a bag of coffee all the way from Hawaii...I would have taken a picture of the bag, however, my mailman squeezed the entire envelope into our mailbox. The results.....the bag was bent out of shape pretty bad! I was so mad at our mailman!!!

Hello Again!

Are any of you familiar with the television show "Heroes"? The moment I saw this stamp, I thought of the cheerleader from the show Heroes. Sometimes I tickle myself even... but it's the "kooky" things around me that actually inspire me. All chit chat aside, I would like to introduce you to another InStyle Stamps image......... Tiffany!



Although I love the finished results, I ran into a serious snag with the pom poms! I wanted to do something to bring them out! I tried to layer them but that didn't work for me either. After pondering the issue of what to do with my pom poms, I thought about the ribbon flower that I made a few months ago. The more I thought about the ribbon flowers, the more I liked it and set off making a few trial ribbon flowers. To adhere the ribbon flowers, I used my 3/8 size punch and punched circles. The ribbon flowers are mounted with clear dots from Memory Book.
I seriously love this product!!!

I hope that your Saturday morning is off to a great start! Around here, we are spring cleaning....where does all the junk come from?!?! We have set a lot of junk on the curb for the garbage collector and would you believe that somebody took it? I guess the saying is true, our junk is treasure for somebody and they are most welcome to have it! I'm still sorting through the kids clothes and placing clothing they have outgrown into bags for charity. I tell ya' kids grow so fast!
