Experimenting with Flap Cards

Hello and I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! At the moment it is warm and humid here today. The past few days have been on the coool side but perfect weather for me. Its hard to believe that September is right around the corner...where did the summer go?

To explain what I mean about experimenting, I ran across a Flap Card tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and I decided to give it a try. The card itself is relatively easy to make! My only problem was deciding on an image to cover the flap portion. Once I get all of my ideas in order, I'm going to make a few of these Flap style cards for Christmas. I think this style is perfect for gift and money cards.

Since I was experimenting, everything except for the image is from my stash. The very talented Barbara sent me these lovely images and I colored them in with my Copic Markers. To help give the cherries a bit of a sheen, I applied some Liquid Glass and let it dry overnight.

Detals........

c/s and DP and ribbon from my stash,Other embellishments are scallop scissors, paper pierce tool and Dew Drops. The image a gift from Barb W. Thank you Barb!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day:)

these look good enough to eat! Did you go to the stamp convention in Novi this weekend? I didn't go last year (hate to go alone) and same situation came up this year-but I went anyways. I think I won't go alone again as no one to bounce ideas off of. Plus my wallet hurts.

These are lovely. Great jobbie with the experiments. The DP on the first card is yum!

I love those images. I wonder if they put their names next to them, just in case people like me color them to look like something else :-)

Beautiful cards, my friend. You definitely are the Copic MASTER! I love what you did with the cherries...that bit of tan color makes it look like the colander is sitting on a counter top...very nice! And your peaches look real enough to eat!
